Good feedback JCanon, I enjoyed that. I'm not comfortable with the idea that we are manipulated to make certain choices, even if it is ultimately our choice. It interferes with the concept of free will, which I suppose is relative. Example: God says he doesn't try anyone with evil things yet, he gave King Saul a "bad spirit" - was this spirit a demon? This would cause Saul to make more bad choices. The fact that God allows us to be tested is a test in itself. Compare Eve in the Garden of Eden. Their punishment was immediate, yet Satan gets off lightly. God gave King David three choices of punishment due to the fact that he took an illegal census (the bible doesn't say why it was legal) and all three involved death. Why not just punish David? He chose choice # 3, and 70,000 people died (are we to believe they were all evil?).
