I can't believe they used a blonde joke as a biblical illustration......

It was snowing heavily and blowing to the point that visibility was almost zero when the blonde got off work late one night. She made her way to her car and wondered how she was going to make it home.

She sat in her car while it warmed up and thought about her situation. She finally remembered her daddy's advice that if she got caught in a blizzard she should wait for a snow plow to come by and follow it. That way she would not get stuck in a snow drift. This made her feel much better and sure enough in a little while a snow plow went by and she started to follow it.

As she follows the snow plow she was feeling very smug as they continued and she was not having any problem with the blizzard conditions.

After quite sometime had passed she was somewhat surprised when the snowplow stopped and the driver got out and came back to her car and signaled for her to roll down her window. The snow plow driver wanted to know if she was all right as she had been following him for a long time.

She said that she was fine and told him of her daddy's advice to follow a snow plow when caught in a blizzard.

The driver replied that it was OK with him and she could continue if she wanted but he was done with the WalMart parking lot and was going over to K-Mart next.

" A man was driving in a blizzard. Things were looking really bad when he saw a snow plow just ahead. He decided to follow the snowplow. He drove and drove following as closely as he dared , sometimes losing sight of the plow, but then seeing it again. Things were really bad. Finally, the snowplow stopped. The driver got out and came to the man's window. the man rolled down the window and the plow driver asked, "Where are you going? The man replied, " Well, I'm on my way to Montana." The snow plow driver said, " Well, I'm clearing this parking lot!" The people in the world are like the man following the snowplow in the parking lot......they are going nowhere . The job of the faithful slave and our job as their companions is to "take as many as will, to Montana"......

Typical Witness mentality. And naturally, no one in the congregation probably bothered to examine this 'illustration' closely. This man was sure he was following the road to Montana. Aren't the Witnesses sure that they and they alone are on the 'Road to Life'? They blindly follow the Governing Body round and round and round in a parking lot, going nowhere, but they get angry whenever someone suggests that they should really check out whether or not they're on the road to Montana. Everyone else is wrong and they're right. Even though they've been driving around the parking lot for 130 years now, they're still firmly convinced that it's really the road to Montana and no one's going to tell them any different.

The advice to mind your own business in context refers to not getting involved in matters that do not involve you personally....not broadcasting the problems of others. It coincides with 2 Thessolonians 1:8-10 and Romans 12:19. These are not particularly easy concepts to grasp.....but for all of Jehovah's people to know the details of the judicial cases involving child abuse would not incite love and fine works.....it would stir up contentions and would have a dividing effect rather than a unifying effect ....... a distraction from the main issue at hand......God's Kingdom needs to be preached about

Hmmmm.....that's odd. I clearly remember reading countless examples in the scriptures where Jesus exposed the wrongdoing of the Jewish leaders in front of everyone. The Governing Body has no problem in condemning other religions for failing to expose the faults of their flock. Perhaps you should show this article to your mom. It's from the 1964 Awake magazine (which, incidentally, isn't "available" on the WT CD ROM):

Does she not feel it's right to protect the children? I mean, child molestation is heinous, right? So how is it smarter to "mind one's own business" when innocents are being hurt?
