okay, let's say part of the story is true. satan rebelled, god said what's going to happen. what if satan knows god can be wrong? maybe he can win. maybe he has. maybe armageddon was already supposed to happen, but, satan won.

it's like when you put all your trust in your father, then, find out he was wrong. most fathers will not readily admit they could be wrong. maybe this is what really happened? just a thought.

If Jehovah is a metaphor for an anal-retentive controlling power structure and Satan is a metaphor for free thought and human ascent in the face of tyranny, Satan will win in the end.

the way i see it, if the story is true, this would be more realistic. espically after thinking about all the other ideas brought forth on other posts. the well-known story doesn't hold much water.

Intresting that in the so called challenge to Jehovahs authority or his name or his rulership by the rebellious angel, no mention is ever made in any wt artice on what would happen if satan won the challenge. WE know that satan can be hurled to earth, and made into god of a world dethroned and abyssed for 1000 yrs but nothing from the othe side of the challenge, like ok jeh if i win this is what i want.....so if he did win jehovah leaves and then what?...a challenge is given to someone and accepted by another. are there rules? are there rewards? are we in the loop?

BigD, you will be so much happier when you get past the teachings of the Bible. Try to strip your mind of them and start fresh. You will see things much clearer then.

changeling. i 100% do not believe the bible is the word of god. i think it's laughable for anyone to claim such. i just like doing little mental excersises to keep me on my toes. i'm always about the what if, and the hypothetical. believe me, i am not trying to prove to myself the bible is true. i am not closed minded, if someone could prove it to me, i'd readily accept it, but, i seriously doubt it's possible.

To me the satan myth is an exercise in blame shifting. Supposedly man didn't want the blame so he blamed the woman. These days its "the devil made me do it." Satan was created in man's image just like god was. Actually light and dark are both part of the same whole. Each of us has that capacity. It's whether we act on that. Shifting the blame will never allow us to be whole healthy humans.

btw, i don't just do this with the bible. i do it with many other things. with my job, politics, all kinds of things. i don't want you to think i'm in a dark apartment trying to prove or disprove the bible. i just have thoughts. lol

Yes, and maybe Uberwad flanked the Glacstoc fighter jets in the land of Mimnoid to achieve final victory at the battle of Zonktraub in the year 1986. The proof that this happened is seen by the fact that the Mets won the world series that year and the world hasn't been the same since. Therefore the Wanklevwas Times ended in 1986 and Lord Hangtwuster began to rule invisibly in Heaven. Just try and prove that all this did not happen. After all, it is written in the Book of Dustwin, but only if you take the first word of every line and read them backwards. Oh, and you have to be a member of the Faithful and Wise Extang (of which I am a member, not you) to be able to interpret the book of Dustwin.

Have you ever read Job: A Comedy of Justice by Robert Heinlein? It kinda, sorta goes along with the points in your post. It's a good read.
