I asked Jesus to be my saviour at the age of 6 and the Lord honored that far more than I did ;)
For 20 years I was happy to try out all of the pleasures of this world that I ran into, save they never brought me any lasting happiness, just emptiness, pain and torment.
God never gave up on me and kept talking to me. I finally decided I would see what He had to say. He touched me in a way I can only describe that I was high for days.
Have a read of Acts 2 if you need to understand what I am talking about.

So for the last few years I have been walking with God. Always there are ups and downs but I have the peace of knowing Him which is awesome. Same deal as here
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
The only regret is that I pushed Him away for so long but He is using that for good already.
Romans 8:28
[ More Than Conquerors ] And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Dear TLK
As an ex JW (JW for 20 yrs) I can tell you that JWs are not allowed to openly think, discuss and debate doctrine and opinion.
Yes they have book studies and bible studies, but the only literature and content JWs are allowed to discuss is that produced by the Watchtower society.
To have personal opinions is seen to be "weak in faith" and a JW would be condemned for that.
To live a true JW life is to live in a closed, insular world. To have no friends outside of the religion. To undertake no secular work that will have a negative impact on meeting attendance. To undertake no further education. To marry within the religion.
Anyone who leaves the religion is shunned and cast out from JW family and friends.
It is no wonder that these forums thrive because it is the only way that many JWS air their thoughts and opinions and discuss them with ex JWS.

Yeah they have zero understanding on what Paul writes about Freedom In Christ.
On the subject of this "Did you ever try hot steamy, totally disgusting I can't believe we did that, lets do it again sex? That brings lasting happiness"-well of course.
However, I don't think it brings lasting happiness, ask any porn star. -

TLK, obviously someone taught you about the bible, and you took it hook line and sinker, well, because you were an impressionable 6 year old and desired to be accepted by your teacher / parent. And they were attentive to you and that is great!
I wonder what would of happened if you were raised say, in an Islam country.
and at 6 you found the writings of Muhammad in the Qur'an.
Muslims believe that God revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad, God's final prophet, and regard the Qur'an and the Sunnah (the words and deeds of Muhammad) as the fundamental sources of Islam. [3] They do not regard Muhammad as the founder of a new religion, but as the restorer of the original monotheistic faith of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. Islamic tradition holds that Judaism and Christianitydistorted the messages of these prophets over time either in interpretation, in text, or both
My point is, there is NO WAY you just all of a sudden knew who Jesus was, you were taught it.
I am guessing you were a JW, (hence the Jehovah name on your other account) ,
and then you left or was DF'd, or you simply never got baptized, and just walked away,
and found out that being a born again christian was more your cup of tea.
I could be way off, care to enlighten me?

Interesting points.
I was never a JW or brought up one. Regardless of what we are taught or indoctrinated with we have to make our own decisions-even at the age of six. For sure, by the age of sixteen I was making decisions with little influence from my parents or any religious upbringing.
On the subject of Islam I have read parts of the Qu'ran. The verses where they say Jesus was only a prophet doesn't make any sense. How can Jesus say He was God's Son and that equate with The Bible? At least one of them is wrong (or both). Anyhow, they have a different Messiah.
Same deal with Rastarfarianism too-they have their own Messiah.
The whole key to the thing is Jesus-that is what the Bible teaches, not Allah, not Jehovah, not Haile Selassie or anyone else. -
