Hilary, that actually reminded me of The Dead :-)
Bigdreux, love Portishead, is that Trip Hop?
Billy Holiday, my favorite.
Are The Squirrel Nut Zippers considered jazz??

Awesome! Never saw that before. The original was from the album was "Kinda Blue", regarded by many maybe the greatest jazz album ever. Almost every year it continues to be among the best selling recordings. Improvisation by Miles, Coltrane and Cannonball Adderly was maybe the greatest ever on So What and All Blues.
One of my golden moments is John Coltrane with singer Johnny Hartman. Those were the days. Sadly, an era pretty much past.

Hillary_Step,
That was truly a great performance. I like it better than what I have on CD of the same song.
Thanks,

Something you do not see everyday. A very rare clip of Max Roach, Art Blakey and Elvin Jones, three of *the* best jazz drummers, on stage together. The audience looks a little baffled, as well they might...lol

God bless Youtube and all who sail on her.
Here is a very rare clip from French TV in the early 70's of "Soft Machine" in the studio rehearsing for 'Soft Machine 4'. First class stuff. twenty three straight hours in the studio and still working hard.

Arguably the best progressive-rock band ever!
