Oh, yeah, I really pounded the fact that they try to control where we do our research (not outside their publications) and get this: She's never heard anything about that, of course we can research other info, they quote from it.

I can't wait until she reads her Sept. Kingdom Ministry, wish I could see her face.

Yes it does appear that the WTS is starting to crank the mental vise harder on the followers, the WT only members issue is one of those examples. It seems they are trying to put more

security measures on their established theocracy. The information about them on the inter-net can only be seen as very damaging and they're taking this as a personal threat to their power

structure. The biggest problem for them at the moment is the inter-net, it's their biggest Apostate, they can not shut it down, put a muzzle on it, or disfellowship it. The boys in Bethel are

indeed squirming in their pants. In fact their legal department, with some their lowly slaves are constantly scanning web sites to see if their lawyers can thwart those operators with law suits.

This Tower of Power has to be brought down for humanity's sake and I'm willing and able to join in on this particular task, so help me Homerovah !

Just about anything not in agreement with the status quo. i.e. Not believeing that God chose those fools in crooklyn to be his "faithful and undiscreet slave," or 1914 didn't herald Christ's coming unseen.Or belief that the R&F witnesses arern't the Great Criowd. When this was brought up last night as the frarsical beek regurgation, that the only great crowd is those that will (will being the key word) come out of the great tribulation. that sure illicited some gawking and jaw dropping, I mean how dare I point out the obvious. Also that the supposed great crowd of 1935 were mostly all dead except those that were you children sooooo???

From my experience: When my parents found out we weren't attending, they tried to help, tried to 'encourage' us with more thought control, called our friend/elder to ask him to call on us.

When I finally said that those assholes never came or called and wouldn't be welcome in our home if they did and that we have no intention of ever stepping foot in a KH for the rest of our lives, they and my sister warned us that they would have to limit communication with us if we didn't behave.

When I told them that their suggestion sounded cult-like and that the idea of a human ordering me to restrict family relationships because of religion was repugnant to me, then we were (as a wise JWD member Stealth put it) upgraded to A ticket.

    A promotion!

At my " encouragement" meeting with the elders after finding out they overturned the dfing decision and I was good to go, the chairman elder asked me something, he asked," We were concerned about you being upset over the molestation settlements, and were worried you got that information from apostate literature." I said, " No, I got that from an associated press news release, what makes you think I got it from apostate literature? " He said, " The fact that you were bothered by the way it was handled or covered over by the gag order." I said, " Of course I was bothered by it, it's a travesty of justice these people were prohibited from speaking out about it." Then he said the clincher, " Well, you just have to have faith that Jehovah handled it the best way possible. That's where faith comes in." I just grumbled something unintelligible in response.

So these days with their organizations a$$ on the frying pan these guys are looking for anything that they might suspect could be an "influence " on their members getting knowledge of the molestations or any speck of negativity towards decisions the org. makes. I still voiced my opinion and left them standing there with their mouths open, hoping I will never see them again. Let them stew in their own mire. They are paranoid these days

If you choose NOT to ignore the Watchtower's inconsistencies and false statements, my guess is that once you vocalize your research, it is the beginning of them looking at you "funny".

Minimus- People used to look at me funny if I missed a few meetings, let alone started talking about things I disagreed with. These people look funny if a new person walks in their door, then all the questions start. What congregation are you from? Have you been in the area long? It's a list of 20 questions so they can pigeonhole your level of spirituality. I tried being evasive and giving no quarter

I think once you start to question the society's interpretation of scripture. I remember the last time I was visited by elders, I brought up how their understanding of certain scriptures was based on years of WT indoctrination, not an objective study of the scriptures. It was at this point that they asked me if I had read any apostate literature.

Merely expressing a view that something sounds questionable is enough to arouse suspicions. And once others are aware that you voiced a contrary opinion, you're toast.

Also, if any jw's are aware you have even been reading non religious material, like psychology books, philosophy, or any books which give you direction on thinking processes, the witnesses will look at that as a threat to what they tell you at meetings and in jw land
