I have found the mere mention of the date, 1975, makes my sister look daggers at me.

Any and all circumstances provide the JW's an opportunity to brand you with some sort of label - apostate is a pretty good one for their world.

I brought up the subject of the child molestation payouts to my sister in law - in a gentle, non intrusive kind of off hand way - she told her husband, the rabid elder, who told my mother in law and sister in law - foaming rabid JW's - and then the call came from the elder (the first in 2 years) to say that the comment sounded very apostate...then came the letter from mother in law and sister in law - hmmmm...sounds like you are listening to apostates.......never mind that they'd been told one of the family was quite ill - they ignored that - they just wanted a direct hit will the word apostate.

Sad, sick people when all they can see in this life is gloom and doom and all they are capable of is fear, loathing and guilt...sadder still that they can't or won't recognize it. sammieswife.
