It seems that Fresia has more than a few issues that cannot be resolved or settled on a discussion board. We are all entitled to our own opinions and are free to believe what our inner heart leads us to.
My point WAS, that many folks are happy in and with their personal beliefs, and yet the JWs are methodically trained (by the WTS), to go to their homes, invade their privacy, and extoll the virtues of a man-made organization that they THINK is blessed by God to the exclusion of all others.
After 30 long years of servitude to that organization that claims to BE "the truth" and HAVE "the truth".....I have seen how terribly misled I WAS and how badly I was deliberately lied to for all that time.
Would you rather have me stay IN a religion that I know has lied to me....to "wait on Jehovah" to have them to supposedly 'get it right'....or to GET OUT OF HER as the bible tells me, and go TO Jesus Christ....who has NEVER lied to me?
I feel the choice was obvious.

Sometimes it takes a heap 'o' living to realize that things are really quite simple after all.
I will never have to worry about ANYONE "destroying MY faith" ever again.

JWs only "faith" is in FDS. It has nothing to do with the teachings.
Proof: The FDS can change any teaching (1914 generation, anointed sealed in 1930's, blood fractions) and JWs will instantly believe it.
It's not Jesus, the Bible or any teachings--it's the 'organisation' JWs believe in.
V...well said!!!! I know I was mislead for many years into believing their false teachings. The FDS is, in fact, the"false prophets" the Bible warns true Christians about.!!! Only they present everything in a shiny package to keep jws following them. Most jws are kind and caring people,, just being mislead!! After all we all belonged at one time,,well a great deal of us here posting believed and belonged, and I find everyone here to be the kind of people anyone would be happy to be friends with.

Many of their well known Kings went sour such as David & Solomon. How about the selfish Kings who practiced child sacrifice which was an abomination to their God? Nothing has changed through history when it comes to persons wanting to exercise their selfish wills, NOTHING!

Really?? What incontrovertible evidence can you provide that the Jews, individually or as a nation, have been forgiven by Yahweh?
I don't know if it's ok for me, a Newbie, to start here. If not, please tell me where to go. My dad was a JW back in the early 70's. He tried to teach us their "irrefutable" doctrine. I couldn't understand the things he was saying (the Earth is 6,000 years old, 144,000 will go to Heaven, Jesus is not God, the world would end in 1975, etc). A few years ago, one of my best friends became a JW. And he too tried to teach me. But again, I couldn't understand. He told me it was very important to believe that Jesus died on a stake instead of a cross. I couldn't understand why it was so important to focus on how Jesus died, instead of why. I kept telling him "You strain at gnats but swallow a camel". Both of them tell me only JW's have the truth, and everyone who is not a Jehovah's Witness does not. And somehow, it was vital for me to question my belief, but equally vital for them (or me) to not question theirs. I never got along with my Dad, and now I don't get along with this friend either, because I couldn't accept that "they have the Truth". But I can't follow a religion that contradicts itself & keeps changing its doctrine, but still claims to be true.
Leaving something implies one had to be some where in the first place! If it is Christainity then that implies Christ. JW's think EX-witnesses have left God - interesting concept. Disfellowshipping by Jehovah Witness is nothing more then removing someone from an organization a corportation of articles and by laws not God.
If a person had the power to control God' love for his children it hard to believe he would place that power in imperfect human being. That is, the power to determine who gets to associate with God and who does not. Now if God has anything to say on the matter of who He place that power with I think if I recall correctly it was Christ and no one in heaven or earth was give the power or found worthy to be the head/shepard/savior of God children but Chirst.
Christ said there is one door oneway and no one comes to the Father accept through him. Further I think he stated that no one can take a sheep from him. Now if things are as we are told Christ now resides in heaven and to worship him and his Father one must worship with truth and spirit- because that is what both are.
To leave a man made corporation is one thing and being disfellowship from a corporation is really a good thing God spirit does not dwell in corporations it dwells in his temple and that temple is his children. Being disfellowship mean taking away the light of the world from the corporation that was being blessed for treating God's children kindly.
One can not leave Christ there is no other place to go way too; "where shall be go away to Christ has saying of everlasting life". Corportation steal Christ words and use them to oppress people while Christ sets people free by the Holy Spirit- where the spirit of God is there is freedom. Ex-witnesses have been set free sadly most don't realize their prayers where answered. You've left nothing that you have not gain a hundred times more. By their works/fruits you shall know them; the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, lonsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfullness. Gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness. Idoltary, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, out bursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dessensions, heresies. Envy, muders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like. All corportation have is laws to make people do what is a gift from God to his children the fruit of His spirit not an earthly corportation spirit of flesh.
