**dragonlady's husband speaking here**
I'm bipolar, and have been on meds. If you know you're bipolar, the only right thing to do is see a doctor, for your benefit and those around you. especially if you're doing things that you regret later.
unchecked and unmedicated, bipolar is a hard road, can lead to self-medication like alcohol or drugs, which can really make you cycle, and really do a number on your behavior. this is destructive, leading to problems with family, friends, marriage, job, finances, jail, drugs, alcohol, etc...
friendly advice- in addition to seeing a psychiatrist for meds, see a counselor also, since bipolar people almost always have "baggage" which also tends to make behavior destructive.
Excellent advice! KW13, please, please for your own sake and for the sake of your wife and baby, please follow Dragonlady's husband's advice. There's so much in your life to gain from it, and so much to lose if you don't get the right help.
