It's going to start after 5:20am here...I'll be up anyway getting the kidsd up for school.
Saw my first lunar eclipse when I was about 23, watched from a back balcony at my parents' house while listening to music. It was cool.
...and the moon turned to blood.

Darn it! I did it again! I even wrote it on the calendar so I wouldn't forget! I missed the Perseids, too!
Sure enough, I failed to look at the moon while driving home at 6:00 am this morning. And I head west for half the trip, too.

I saw it here in South Australia just a little while ago from my backyard. It was red-brown. The sky was quite clear with many stars visible - it was magnificent.
