Is there a site for fading JWs who remain non-trinitarian Christians?

    Steve2,

It's so hard here to know who is being just funny or kidding and who is attacking. I'm not real good at telling the difference yet. Sorry if I came on too aggressive, it's not really my nature.

I understand what you're saying, I also grew up in the truth and though I'm still in the Org. it does not mean I'm ignorant of the problems in it.

    Love to you, brother,

    Deborah

    Jeff,

I'm intrigued by your post. As a mother I have the authority to tell my children what to do and how to do it and yet I can also say to them that their father is the head of the house. I have all the authority yet I'm not their father. Jesus position is the same. He has all authority but he is not the Father.

The other day in Buena Park, CA I met Jesus Christ himself! He was walking southbound on Beach blvd and dragging a very large cross with him. . I'm assuming he was on his way to be crucified. It was also interesting to note that he was having a bit of trouble with his loincloth. It was starting to unravel and fall off of him. Fortunately he had two other guys helping him carry the cross so that he could use one hand to keep his loincloth from dropping to the ground.

I forgot to stop and ask him what his views of the trinity are. I'll try and remember next time I see him.

What I saw was true. I've been in California for 4 years now and am no longer surprised by anything I see here.

    Deborah,

Welcome to JWD. I hope you find what you are looking for, both in life and in regards to your request on this thread. Don't let any of us crazy apostates scare you off from wanting to find a non-trinitarian group or church to associate with. Just try and stay away from the crazy, controlling groups like the WT.

    Hi Deborah,

Have you researched the Trinity outside what appears in Watchtower literature? If not I recommend that you do. Most JWs know nothing about the Trinity beyond the Watchtower spin, which is dishonest, inaccurate and highly simplistic. If you do not know what ontology and economy mean or have not heard of Modalism than you are not yet in a position to make a judgement on the nature of God (no disrespect intended as possibly you are aware of these things.)

As a JW I prided myself on fighting Trinitarians (though never seemed to convince anyone at the doors that Arianism is correct) yet had never heard of Modality. It was only once I left that I found that Pentecostals are generally not Trinitarians but Modalists. How did I not know? Because the Watchtower library only mentions the word Modality once in over 50 years!

If you research without Watchtower blinkers you will find that the Trinity was created by people trying with utmost sincerity to unravel the mysteries of the Bible, and the JW Arian view becomes contradictory with just the slightest amount of research.

Another suggestion is to use other translations apart from the NWT. The Watchtower Bible is supremely dishonest in adding the word Jehovah to the New Testament, changing the intended meaning of key passages (see http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/Jehovah.htm) and to obtain an accurate understanding requires comparing several versions.

    Hi Deborah,

In my opinion, the best non-Trinitarian forum for x-JWs is at http://www.channelc.org/cgi-bin/eboard30/index.cgi

    I agree.

I had many hang-ups regarding this doctrine, but after making a thorough investigation into it I realized that many of my problems with it stemmed from misinformation that came from the WTS (and others).

I also would like to add that personally I realized that my rejection of the teaching came more from a desire to see others 'wrong' and corrupt. Even after I walked away from the JWs I still believed many of the churches where in error and that I knew better than they do.

Many groups use a rejection of the trinity to simply write off all other Christians as false believers.
