My life personally has taken a much more positive turn after leaving the religion. Less stress to be having nights taken up with meetings droning on. Lots more time for reading new things on life, hobbies, trips to take, I enjoy cooking for my wife. Also being married again to a wonderful person makes it great! She sees me for who I am, not what she wants to turn me into. Have a great son, learning at college. I do miss my witness daughters, but still call, tell them I love them, try to stay positive.

We live in a nice mountain area, good weather, nice pets, dogs, cats, wife loves to garden, vegetables, flowers, etc. Kids are grown, look forward to having grandkids some day. My wife are considered middle aged but we feel in our 20's, very active lives. Do you all feel free since leaving the witnesses and like life has blossomed for you in different ways? What's going on in your life that you'd like to talk about ? If it's not happy that's cool too ! We can all learn and empathize with each other. We've been there done that. That is one common thread a lot of us have here is being ex witnesses, so this is your venting thread, how are you feeling, good or bad? Happy or sad? Would really like to hear from ya'll. Peace to you all, Mr. Flipper

Love you too, Nvr. It's unconditional, not like the witness love we knew. Peace out man, good health to you, Mr. & Mrs. Flipper

Absofreakinglutely! Life is so much better, no boring meetings, critical judgements, my kids and I celebrate all the holidays. Sleeping in on Sunday, that's bliss in and of itself!

    Yes most definitely!

I'm so anticipative of life now. Being a young man, I feel that there is so much ahead of me in life to experience, so i've never been more excited before. I've learned to live for the moment and savor as much of RIGHT NOW that I can.

I wish the best to you all.

I was never a witness, but I associate with one whom I thought was a friend "till about 2 weeks ago. I asked him about the "worldly person" nonsense. What he said really pissed me off. i said I didn't want to associate myself with someone who thought of me that way. After all, what did I do to him and this planet anyway? After calming down and reading "the Gideons" at the hotels I stayed in California, with my son on holidays, I decided to just forgive the man. I won't discuss his way anymore, but I will listen for the slightest hint of regret and maybe someday we can have a more mature discussion. One day he might wake up and need some help.

Yes, i wasn't brought up a witness so it has been relatively easy for me to take up the 'old ways', celebrations etc. But i am more content with life just now than i have ever been, my hubby is now totally supportive and more anti jws than me, i have two lovely boys who are free to choose their own paths in life and not be dictated to and we are expecting another next year who will never know what its like to step into a kingdom hall. I can make what friends i like, go where i want and do what i want without negative comments, i can concentrate on putting my family and our happiness and security first. Sounds like you are really happy Flipper, really pleased for you.

Yes. Finding friends who will stick by you is amazing. Especially after my grandmother told my husband, that we were not welcome at her house unless I went back to meetings. I've found friends who are closer to me then my own family. And my marriage to my "unbelieving" husband is a very happy one.

A couple of weeks ago my Mom told me of a disagreement she had with on of her family members, one that is a witness but somewhat "weak" - basically my Mom got upset because she told my Mom that all JWs are so negative an pessimistic... always lamenting about how bad this system of things is and how the end must come, it is time for the new system...

I am thinking that the fact that I am living in the here and now and trying to find joy and happiness now, and am always striving to improve my current existance instead of living for the evernear new system is a Great thing!!!

    These things are major improvements:

    (1) No more having to worry about going to at least some of the meetings or out in service at least once a month.

    (2) Actually being able to look forward to the Christmas songs and getting things decorated for Christmas and enjoying it.

    (3) Being able to dress down on those really hot days and not having Brother Hounder being able to tell me to button up that collar button when it's hot and muggy.

    (4) Not having to waste time off on those a$$emblies. Not having to ask for time off for such wastefests, only to have to just meet men and hear the same story, with a few variances, every year.

    (5) Getting a computer, and being able to go online. Not having to worry about apostate Web sites (in fact, I like hitting them on purpose).

    (6) If I feel like listening to rap music or watching porn, I can do so without Brother Hounder being able to say anything about it. And if he does, I can just pull out my Ouija board and turn on the Christmas lights and tell him to fxxx off.

    (7) Not having ridiculous standards for language. True, there are words I will not use on this forum because of the rules (which sets people up to expect relative freedom from words that might offend them) and in hopes of ending up on Net Soup on Freeminds. But it's ridiculous to have to not use words like Damn and Darn, Shoot, Geez, Gosh, Golly, Good luck, Hell, Crap, and other words that are in common usage that the Tower feels is offensive or blasphemous.

    (8) Knowing that I know more about the Bible as an apostate than the average Witless who is faithful, including Brother Hounder. Even as an antitheist, I still know more about the Bible than most people that are still active Witlesses including pioneers and hounders.
