That OLD LIGHT could make them turn APOSTATE.
It's a good thing that the Watchtower's Great Tribulation is a figment in the imagination of somew very disturbed men who live in Brooklyn Heights New York .

I did know an elder that said he had a bible hidden away so when the GT came he would still have access to one. I thought it was weird then, I still do. Don't they have any of this stuff memorized YET? What possible good would....oh, nevermind. Can't figure out the inner workings of the illogical. I didn't know it was a widespread idea among them but I shouldn't be surprised.

Before they replaced the drywall and painted, Marvin elected it prudent to prepare a gift kit for that wall that included a copy of the New World Translation and a copy of the Truth book. His plan was that in the sudden destruction that was to come in the form of the Great Tribulation, he might have all his literature confiscated, and he could simply kick the panel out of the wall and be duly served with 'spiritual food from Jehovah'.
This is one of the most hilariously sad things I have ever heard... evah..

I know. When I look back, I can't conceive how I ever believed this religious group to be anywhere close to sanity. That old Bible is prob still in the wall, and if a Jw ever finds it, he will have to destroy it because 'New light' has corrected the green Bible many times by now. Otherwise he would risk going apostate by reading the non-corrected version. LOL
I don't know why I thought of this. Just one of those memories that 'came out' during mental exorcism.

Ok we're talking early 1970's now. Amazing some of the memories that come to life.
One afternoon our family was invited to a sister's house. Sister lived in a very exclusive seaside community and it was awesome. Dock out back on the bay, boat, built in swiming pool, the works. Anyway there was a room next to the kitchen area filled from floor to ceiling with all kinds of food. Apparenty, sister stuffsherface was afraid of the famine that was about to hit. At least that's what she told me when I questioned it. Preparing for the famine, indeed! All the way home all my mom could do was judge sister stuffsherface and infer that when the famine came the evil nieghbors would kill her to get at the food.
If you are spiritually strong Jah will provide. Such reasoning aimed at little ones. I wonder why it never dawned on my mom that Jah only provided enough food for 5 of her family of 7 or why Jah let us go cold in the winter time?
