For those who asked what a Swiffer is, it is a floor cleaning and dusting system. There is a telescoping handle attached to a flat end-piece where disposable dusting cloths can be attached. Google Swiffer and see if you can get a better visual.

I don't use swiffers as I feel they are too priecy and not good for the environment as you have to keep buying the refills. I like the microfiber idea tho- I may give that a try.

For dusting I love em, love em, love em. I don't use the stupid handle thingy that comes in the package I just use the cloth. On the rare occasion that I dust, that is. One box lasts me a while.

I live in a small apartment with almost zero storage space. The swiffer is great because it is so small.
Scully thanks for those ideas.

Thanks, Lee. That's good to know. I use my Swiffer all the time on the wood floors and you're right, replacing the cloths can get costly.
I saw one of the micro fiber mops on QVC yesterday and thought it was such a good idea, but it was $30, so I didn't buy it. I didn't think about just putting the cloths on the Swiffer. I will do that.

I used mine today to brush up the broken glass from my little furniture mishap earlier today
When I was buying the swiffer cloths I was always so cautious about using it too much. Now I don't have to worry. I used one washed it and had another ready to go while that one dried
I also have two colors - one I will use dry and the other I will use wet
Sometimes I think I'm so cheap - I hate to waste money - not like I have a lot to waste - so if I can be dreative in how I do or use things I'll find it

The swiffer
Am I the only one that hates those damn things? They are worthless in my opinion.

I live the swiffer for wood floors and use it on tile floors too. I have the one that vacuums also. Never tried the wet one./
Lady Lee, I will try the microfiber sheets that can be washed. Thanks for the info.
