Would the motivation matter?

Regardless of Bush's motivation, I'm just so surprised by Al Gore. His motives are supposedly ecology-driven. I wonder what he has said (or done) in response to this article?

Gore's massive energy use is really old news by now. I have posted numerous articles about it in the endless global warming threads that pop up here almost weekly.
And since Bush's house was not built to be preachy but rather to be efficient it just did not make the news. Or reporters knew about it long ago but never ran the story due to the awkward nature of it.
I don't see anything sad about it, just ironic at best. I knew Gore was a phony hypocrite long ago.

I'm surprised you've just heard of this, because I heard about it in the news months ago. It was also stated that the company that tracks the carbon offset credits is partially owned by Gore. I don't remember the specifics...it's been a while....I remember thinking that it was very hypocritical of him.

I'd say that is Al Gore's house. Because of the gravel driveway up the front. Only in Tennessee. Hehe. I once saw a brand new Jaguar hauling 2 bails of hay in the open trunk. You see stuff like that here. tnangel73

he pays carbon offsets
You mean if you are wasteful of our environment, it's okay as long as you pay extra $$ for doing it? WTF? That's not what being environmentally conscious is all about!

There are alot of people that probably think I am the devil incarnate because I drive a mid size SUV. What they don't know is there are over a thousand trees on my eight acres that I choose to leave up. Three acres are massive old growth douglas firs. The amount of carbon dioxide that just one of those doug firs converts to O2 is way more then my whole family puts out in a year. But that does not matter because it's all about the symbolism and show. It's trendy and progressive but does not amount to hill of beans, much like Al Gore.
Someone living in an apartment driving a hybrid will still be lauded as being environmentally progressive even though they put out more carbon dioxide then I do.

From what I understand, cows are one of the biggest contributoring factors to global warming because of the massive amounts of methane they emit when they pass gas. Why hasn't anyone come up with the idea of giving them all Beano on a daily basis. Problem solved.
I wish there was a pill for all of the hot air that the politicians emit.

I posted this when the story first came out, Gore not as green as he claims, and got ripped for it. What do you have against poor old Al? What did he do to you? why you picking on him? poor old Al. I think it hypocritical to go on speaking engagements, making movies and generally telling all us little people how we should live our lives and make less of an environment footprint when his looks like bigfoot next to mine. I find him hard to take seriously.
