Eryn: that piece was really nice. I like Dvorak's Cello Concerto. This stretches me. Some stuff I rarely listen to. Like this next piece. Believe it or not I wanted to use the following when I was very young at my wedding, a Grand Entrance I would say.

thought you might like this Cello piece. It's funny and he does quite a good job I think.

beksbks: You're the one that got me started into listening to Opera today. I'm going to listen to your selection as soon as I post these.
freydi: that video always brings a tear to my eye.

I have always liked Bach's Toccata und Fugue but I am a bit macabre at times. The ending always makes the hairs on my arm stand up. LOL at wanting to use this at your wedding.
I used to play the organ a hundred years ago. I always played barefoot which kindled a special fire in my BF.
The Cello Rondo was very refreshing, thank you.

beksbks: great selection of music. I do love Monserat Cabelle's version of Casta Diva.
Rene Fleming and Cecilia Bartoli's version of Mozart: both great singers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLtqZewjwgA&feature=related
O mio Babbino caro: I don't know if anyone does this as well as Kiri te Kanawa. I love Monserat Cabelle but she doesn't do this piece justice from what I have found.
Cecilia Bartoli - Vivaldi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jr3WNaMJMA8&feature=related
This next one is absolutely great, even though it's really funny it shows what a great voice she has. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQADns6t7TM&feature=related

Not sure if this really qualifies as "classical" but I love it.

sweetstuff: It's more than 10 years old I think so I'll let you get away with it and say it's classic. When I think of Enya I think of Sinead O'Connor who also has a great voice. She was interviewed recently and said that after going through all the difficulties she found out that she has bi-polar.

Hey, Guest w/ Quest, is this going to be a "Weekend" thing now? Did we start something?
Good idea.
Grace, not sure what you are talking about...Gonna go back and read the thread again, and I'll get back to you.

Grace, is this what you uare talking about?
Put the thread link in your "favorites", Grace.
Look at the top left of your window...You should see the word "favorites".
WHEN YOU ARE VIEWING THE U-TUBE VIDEO Click on "Favorites". Do you see a new column at your left showing "Favorites"? (My window shows a star, and the word "favorites").
If you do, click on the new window where it says "favorites" again....at the star if you have it....when it comes up, you may have to click on it again, and then click on "add to favorites". The u-tube link should now be saved in your "Favorites".
After, you can click on "favorites" to bring up your saved favorites, and click on the u-tube title, and it should come up.
Hope this helps.

I will have to listen to all these tomorrow. This is a VERY dangerous thread for me. I spent over an hour here earlier just pulling up and listening to great stuff on Youtube. One thing led to another.
Oh just to say, I was only looking for a sample of the piece, not up on the best versions.
"O mio Babbino Caro" Hehe the first time I heard this, was when my 19 yr old son made me listen to it on Grand Theft Auto III. I love that kid.
