The point is many ex-JW's and active JW's did not like the fact that even if there was some indirect connection between the NGO's and the UN, the Borg had no business registered with the UN because of all their literature against the UN.

Also, if the Borg were so innocent about their involvement or lack of involvement with the UN, there would have been no reason to remove themselves from the NGO UN list.

Jesus Christ and the apostles when falsely accused defended themselves to the end.

The Borg removed themselves because they knew they were hypocrites and their literature and writings attested to their hypocrisy regarding the UN.

I'm sure this situation came up to their spin department in Brooklyn and they handed the problem over to their specialists

It does sound that the WTS was caught with their hands in the cookie jar and they are trying to spin their way out of it.

It's a case of blatant hypocrisy.

By the way for them to say that the U.N. is an organization controlled by Satan or whatever is total rubbish

The U.N. was set up to help countries resolve their problems and make the world a better place in doing so

hardly what you would consider evil or wrong in ideology.

I'm with Oompa. This letter does not sound like it came from the society.

I have scans of 6 different letters from the Society written on the subject, and the language is substantially similar to that found in these other letters. The main difference is that this is a very personal response. I would love to have a scan of it.

Whereami, I don't buy it. This sounds contrived and apologetic. I have a hard time believing this to be genuine. A scan would be nice. I was a witness from the early sixties onward and the U.N. was the beast that was, wasn't and then was again. It was the object of prophecy, just as ol'Knorr boy said. And just for your information. The WT says that we shouldn't refuse to pay taxes because the money would be used for defense purposes. We have no right to direct how the money is spent, right? We do not pay taxes to the U.N. as observed in this classic letter. They say the services are owed to those who pay the taxes. We in the U.S. pay no U.N. tax. The gov may spend the money on the U.N. but that doesn't mean we have to whore ourselves to it any more than we would take money payed to a country with national health that pays for a blood bank system. More Watchtower baloney reasoning. Whored themselves, thats it. Read your Babylon the Great has Fallen... Or the Climax book for God's sake. W.Once

W.Once i also have a hard time believing this to be genuine. If you go to the link directly it doesn't have a scan, at least i didn't see it. But then again as Leolaia stated above "the language is substantially similar to that found in these other letters. The main difference is that this is a very personal response." So i don't know what to make of it.

He chose to believe the apostate lie that they themselves admit is actually true. I am thoroughly confused.

thirdwitness AOL quote Monday Sep 3 Its in the article.

When you hear that the Watchtower Society was a United Nations NGO, you may not be aware thatthere is actually more than one kind of NGO. This fact is important, and is often deliberately obscured by those who try to condemn and criticize the Society.

In the United Nations system, there are NGOs who are associated with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and there are also NGOs associated with the Department of Public Information (DPI). The Watchtower Society was of the latter kind — associated with the DPI.

However, many websites and at least one book deliberately misleads their readers by quoting rules and stipulations to ECOSOC NGOs, and then pretending that those resolutions and rules apply to DPI NGOs, of which the Watchtower Society was one. This tactic is grossly dishonest and many of those who make this claim know full well they are misleading their readers. http://www.jehovahsjudgment.co.uk/watchtower-... end quote.

Does it matter how many kinds of NGOs there are? Is that important?

How can you associate with an Organization whom you call a Wild Beast? There's nothing wrong with associating with the UN.

What is wrong is telling everybody that association with the UN is a sin for which one gets DF ed. Yet behind everyone's back they associated until they got caught. Not all the smart words in the world is gonna take that away. The Watchtower and their apologists, which this quote was taken from are liars and hypocrits.

It's really simple. The WT got caught and is trying to weasle out of it by speaking many words.

Instead of apologizing by saying they were wrong they continue in their sin.

btw. The apologist's site; I thought JWs are encouraged not to set up sites like that. Isn't that what the KM was about?

Caught in a web of lies.

    Exactly- also,

The letter is just too personal to seem genuine to me- what is the desk code for the bro that wrote the letter? It's usually a 2 or 3 letter combo in the top corner of the letter. That is the only way to trace it back to the author- get the desk code and then call Brooklyn and ask for that desk and then we will see if this brother will verify writing this entire letter.
