The body almost always wins out over the mind.

When the body is in charge it may seem as if you have lost control but your are in good hands - your body owns the hands.

Terry you have helped us all with your incisive logic and reason and enabled us to forge a new reasoning path in life. thanks for that. Please take time out for yourself - it seems that an important part of you is telling you that.

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time, Terry. You did seem unusually tense in some recent posts but I put it down to the usual highs and lows that we all experience from time to time. I hope you manage to find some clarity of purpose soon and that the mental gridlock eases.

Others have already suggested it, but it does sound like you need to find a more fulfilling occupation. I recall you saying that you had reservations as to what you could find given your previous prison conviction as a consciensious objector, but there must be something. Its a crapshoot stumbling across that "something" but I know you have the smarts to pull it off.

Just wanted to add that you have accomplished alot in this life...you have a great and loving relationship with your kids. The most important thing that we can achieve today, is to produce healthy functioning adults. Looks like you have suceeded with your children.

Now that you have accomplished that, it is time for you to think of Terry. What makes you happy? What do you want to do with the remainder of your life? Who are you? I am glad that you are willing to do and speak to someone about these very issues. Be open minded, and you will be surprised what you will learn about yourself, and your needs.

    We are here for you.

    Dear Terry.....

For what it's worth, I am 66 years of age and I can distinctly recall feeling (and reacting) just like that four times in my life. Not a full-blown angry melt-down (I've had those too)---but a very calm "I am so done" sensation that overcame me and I WAS done. I am not a psychiatrist by any means, but I DO know when my brain is telling me "this ain't workin' " and I have already moved on in my head.

It usually is accompanied by doing some of THE most logical thinking to cross through my brain in months or sometimes years. In MY case...it's a good thing. I suspect it may very well be the same in your case. Relax, and let it take the next course or phase.

    hugs,

    Annie

Been there, done that at least twice. It really freaks people out. Sometimes you just need to go somewhere and scream at the top of your lungs. Both times though, have led to me making changes for the better like getting a new better job or learning to communicate with others and express my feelings that I at other times repressed. Hang in there, it DOES get better!!

There must be something stressing you out perhaps something you are not fully aware of. You are a person with great intellectual skills and capabilities so I am sure you will soon get over this bad spell.
