One sad thing about all this is that because of the wording of the disfellowshipping policy, JWs have the luxury of saying that the man is an ex-elder or ex-member. So it is automatically set up that whenever a JW is guilty of a crime, they are automatically not a Witness anymore at the time they commit the crime. So you will never see a headline that a JW committed a crime, it will always be an "ex-member" committed the crime. So JWs can make the claim that no JW has ever committed a crime of any kind. This is a great example of how JWs manipulate language.
