I tried to go outside today -- bad idea! Almost immediately my sinuses slammed shut! Apparently today was a "bad air quality" day and my nose is super sensitive due to the surgery.
I went back inside and did a sinus rinse (you don't want to know) and returned to "normal".
Even worst, tonight around 6:00 I started to notice that blah "fever" feeling. I checked and it went up to 99.3 F but is back down to 98.6 F. The Dr warned me to let him know about any high fevers (102 F or greater). I'm already on antibiotics as a normal part of the procedure... I took my scheduled dose so we'll see if it helps. Cefuroxime 500 mg - 1 tablet twice daily for 7 days (started day after surgery).

David, hope your recovery is on target and you are healed up soon! This does not sound fun! :(

The amazing thing about this whole experience is that I can already breath better than before the surgery... and I've still got all sorts of packing, stitches, tubes and other medical equipment stuffed in my nose. I can only imagine how clear my nose will be once the Dr removes everything!
Yip. Thats exactly how I felt after the op. Yes, the sinus rinse is gross!!! Cannot believe the stuff that comes out of your nose. lol I think I've just made a whole lot of people feel sick.
As I said in my previous post. It's been two years and I can still breathe through my nose.

Hey, Elsewhere, just wanted to say that I'm glad things are improving day by day even though the initial results were painful.
Just remember that Jehovah will not allow you to be tested beyond what your nose can bear. <snork! snork!>

I'm getting SERIOUSLY bored. You have NO idea how sick I am of TV.
Dude, I had mono in May of 2006. I missed 3 days of work. It had been years since I watched daytime TV. I suddenly realized how fat America's stay-at-home moms must be. Every 10 mins there was another commercial for a diet pill or weight loss program. Take a god damn walk, ladies!
I hope you are feeling better!

Thanks again everyone!
The fever went back down and things are back to normal. For awhile there I was starting to feel really bad (or should I say worst than usual). It won't be until Friday at 8:30 am when the Dr "unpacks" my nose. (Counting the
dayshours)Every 10 mins there was another commercial for a diet pill or weight loss program. Take a god damn walk, ladies!
Put down the twinkie and step away from the pizza!
I hear ya... come on people! Just step outside and get your heart rate up for 30 minutes... that's all it takes! It's not like the food is leaping to your mouth and crawling down your throat! Just Say No! (to Twinkies)

Glad things are looking (feeling) better day by day. Isn't it AMAZING what they can pack away in such a small cavity during surgery? I had one on the "other end" and I was shocked at the yards and yards of packing they pulled out of me.....I thought the doc might have left his car keys and gym shorts there by the way it was going!
Take good care and please don't "overdo".....
hugs,
Annie

I'm at my wits end. The other day I mentioned how "open" my nose was, even with all of the packing. Today has been to total opposite. It feels like my sinuses are in total lock-down and about to explode.
I'm scheduled to have all of the packing removed Friday morning but I'm going to call in the morning to see if I can get the packing removed tomorrow. I just can't stand it anymore.
Oh and on a more gross note... the stuff that is coming out now looks like "blood jello". I swear that is what it looks like.
