I did it all, doodle, correct checkbook, make lists, then we went to Hawaii and I bought a Bible in Pidgin English 'Da Jesus Book' That was really fun, looking up scriptures in Pidgin. Matt24:14 All ova da world goin get peopo dat goin tell all da Good Kine Stuff bout how peopo can get God fo dea King. All da diffren kine peopos goin hear wass fo real, an den, everyting goin pau. Someting real bad goin mess up everyting.

Before I got the Pidgin Bible I would take different translations, New Jerusalem or Living Enlish to compare wording. That got elders attention, lots of raised eyebrows and comments like 'why aren't you using a Real Bible?

Sometimes I would compare the Scriptures cited in other Bible versions like The New English Bible or the Jerusalem Bible. It was very hard for me to stay awake at meetings. Even when I conducted the Watchtower Study it was difficult to stay awake because the material was so boring. At least with the Public Talks that we gave at the time we were able to sneek in some of our own material which broke the monotony. I feel sorry for today's JWs who don't even have that option for their Public Talks.

i would sit next to my friend, and we would make fun of what was written in the books, or of others comments.

Toward the end, I decided I needed to brush up on my Spanish so took a Spanish Bible and looked all scriptures that were read. Of course, there was a lot of time that the Bible wasn't being read, so during this time I took up taking notes (hadn't done it for years), and shared them with Clyde when I got home--we laughed at the stupidity. BTW, the only reason I was going to meetings at this point was because my father needed a ride.

there was a period of time where i would sit near the wall, lean my head, and purposely go to sleep. couldn't hear that sugar honey ice tea anymore.(have seen that some members are upset about the use of profanity so i shall refrain wherever possible :)

I drew. I wrote notes to my mom about what I wanted to do once KH was over. I drew some more.

My husband and I passed comical notes to each other about other persons, elders, things said from the platform, sexual, etc.

Sometimes we would pass each other gum and candies and crack up laughing.

People looked at us like why were we so happily married because most of the married couples were so unhappy.

We were and still after 13 years happily married because then and now we knew the real deal and would not let the borg or elders, etc. control us or take our joy away.

Yep I took notes to keep me busy and to make the meetings go faster. But at the end of talks even though I made notes I didn't real take in the talk!!

Lots of drawings, etc. I am so happy to be out the borg.
