Whatever I could to take my mind off of where I actually was. Oh, and getting hubby "aroused" was fun too!

Great opportunity to balance my checkbook! Also used to do a lot of short story writing - that was great for passing the time.

Usually I would space out. After about a year, it was so predictable because everything always followed the format that Adam sold us into sin, Jesus came to redeem us, the end times started in 1914, we are in the last days, Armageddon will follow soon, the Millennial Reign of Terror will follow and fix everyone into everlasting stagnation ruts, and then we will be perfect[ly stagnant]. It got so I could make a comment on any Puketower paragraph without even reading its neighbors--talk about disjointed!

The other meetings were no better. How many times can you go through books that have the same leading-into-paradise theme and not be able to predict what the comments are going to be? The Theocraptic Misery "School(??)" was a drag: I used to get more out of people getting those W's than out of the talks themselves, and I hated getting sent into the Second School (always with my Book Study). The Circus Meeting was also dreary: demonstrations programmings on how they want us to place each article, houndings for everyone to pioneer, and telling us that we are not doing enough. I liked the announcements, especially when they had to call the hounders up. I looked forward to hearing who has been disfellowshipped. That was all too rare--I would have liked to see them come up with a full 3X5 memo pad with nothing written on it but names of all the people that have been disfellowshipped.

Needless to say, they are all a waste of time.

currently, if I go, I daydream or pretend to look at the information board several times. I also go to the bathroom multiple times.

I never sat with my folks and always sat with one of my friends. We use to write notes to each other while pretending to take notes of the talk. When I had my first child I use to take him outside to look at the flowers and run around a bit. There were a few of us doing this so I would chat to the other moms. An elder once came to tell us to keep our kids quiet cause they could be heard inside the hall. We were so busy chatting we didn't realise our kids were playing so loudly.

We stopped going to meetings when my son was about 5 years old. He told me during the week that all he really remembers from going to the meetings is that I would pack him a sandwich and some sweets (our meeting was at lunch time on a Sunday). He was also the only child that was allowed to sit on a blanket on the floor and eat and play with some toys. All the other dub kids had to sit still and listen.

My teenage daughter used to look like she was taking studious notes, when in fact, she was writing notes back and forth to her friend about which boy she thought was cutest that week.
