This has been around before so you may have seen it. But it's worth another read because it can be a much needed reminder. We're all running in the same race, we're here to help each other.
Subject: JEHOVAH WILL NEVER LET GO
Jehovah will never let go of us. It's up to us not to let go of Jehovah.
Some years ago on a hot summer day in south Florida a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went.
He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore. His mother in the house was looking out the window saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In utter fear, she ran toward the water, yelling to her son as loudly as she could. Hearing her voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his mother.
It was too late. Just as he reached her, the alligator reached him. From the dock, the mother grabbed her little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the mother, but the mother was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to drive by, heard her screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator.
Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal. And, on his arms, were deep scratches where his mother's fingernails dug into his flesh in her effort to hang on to the son she loved.
The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, "But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Mom wouldn't let go.
You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some wounds, my friend, are because Jehovah has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you. He wants to protect you and provide for you in every way. But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril - and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack. That's when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of His love on your arms be very, very grateful. He did not and will not ever let you go.
Please pass this on to tho se you love. You just never know where a person is in his/her life and what they are going through. Never judge another persons scars, because you don't know how they got them. Also, it is soooo important that we are not selfish to keep this messages without forwarding them to someone else.
Right now, someone needs to know that Jehovah loves them, and you love them too ~~~~~ enough to not let them go.

The WTS organization, like an alligator, swims below the surface of humanity, awaiting its next victim. Like a powerful alligator clench, the organization refuses to let go of its victims until they have exhausted themselves. And the scars left behind will never fully fade away. But these aren't the scars of love, they are the scars of mental and psychological domination.
Indeed some of us still carry scars of a 'painful past'. They were brought on by the so-called "loving organization of Jehovah".
The only thing that saved us (like that mother) is reality and the love and friendship of friends and family who wanted to see us out of the jaws of that gator.

AWAKE&WATCHING
That's the kind of stuff that would have had me misty eyed at the least, and I would have copied it and sent it in cards to "depressed ones". I was a really thoughtful JW. Ask me how many calls and cards I've gotten in the last 4-5 months since I quit attending meetings.
Reading that actually made me feel sick.

Hmm... Come to think of it (and I'm not being an a-hole here), I really can't recall a moment where I could say "Yes, Jehovah is holding on to me and won't let me go!". How does he do that, btw? By giving us "food at the proper time" through the literature? No other way?
I used to pray to Jehovah for a deeper understanding and answers to my questions (and that was back when I would still pray in a sincere manner). I guess I should thank him for the answers. Evidently, Jehovah is an atheist or at least an agnostic, based on what he showed me. Maybe that's his problem; lack of self confidence? Maybe he needs to believe more in himself. Maybe then he wouldn't be such a 'jealous God' who smites people left and right.

I don't really get it. I see how they think the alligator/world would leave scars but why do they accuse God of leaving scars? It makes no sense to me...God is loving - his help is provided free - Jesus' help is loving - his help is provided free. They do not leave scars. Rather they save you from the dangerous situations and leave you in a better place feeling renewed - not scarred.
Bad situations can leave you scarred - help, kindness, and assistance do not - whether you believe in God or not.

If there isn't a good anecdotal story to cover virtually any circumstance, we can just make one up.
I now realize that the public talks I gave (and received praise for) were just choke-full of these
kind of stories. I am ashamed (although I never heard this one before).JW's love their little stories. This proves to them that teenagers who got baptized as children
deserve to be shunned by grandparents when they got involved in heavy petting or some other
typical normal growing-up experiences, and then left Jehovah after their horrific experience
with the elders. (OR ANY STORY WHERE DISCIPLINE FROM THE CONG. WAS DISHED OUT)Yes, those once-a-year half-assed attempts (if any) to call on inactive and DF'ed ones in the
territory prove that Jehovah doesn't let go. Shunning proves it.Heck, keeping pedophiles in the congregation, and allowing elders to keep their position and their
secret about it after they viewed pornography on the internet (when publishers would be reproved)-
these are proofs that Jehovah just won't let go.
