As I drove thru the countryside this morning at 0300 on my way back from work [I was supposed to report and found that I had been scheduled for another vacation day, so back home I went], I drove past the Kingdom Hall and began to meditate in the utter absurdity of what these poor souls believe about themselves.
They arrogantly are duped to accept that the Devil, the ultimate evil in all the universe, has selected them as Target. I drove past tens of thousands of people in that short drive, yet this small cluster of people believes that they alone are worthy of his attack. Their chariness is amazing too. Many of them have unpublished phone numbers, to prevent the 'devils agents' from finding them easily when the attack begins on them. As if he is going to ring them up before he obliterates them from off the earth.
I recalled a conversation that I had once with a fellow Witness. I mentioned some minor doubt that I was nurturing at the time [ it was nothing major, as Todo had not yet pulled back the curtain for me ], and this Witness got an odd look on his face and said, in effect; 'Now you have gone and done it. The Devil is not able to read minds, but he is able to hear us speak. He may have just heard that statement, and knows now what tools to use to break you.' I was in disbelief over the silliness of that statement for a long time after.
I think it translates to total arrogance to believe that, out of all the billions of people, not only has God accepted your worship while rejecting that of billions of other sincere people, but to go a step further and accept that the Devil has trained his Dragunov on them.
Oh, I don't know, just the ramblings of a sleepy man. It's off to bed for me.
