Ok if the Purple Publisher wants to study and get baptized, fine whatever. It's the double standard that gets me. I was counseled in the past for listening and owning his music. He stills tours and plays the very same songs. Up until him all JW's were strongly counseled to not pursue music. I was one of them. Although I was pursuing music before I started studying. As to the exclusive area for him, I'm on the fence on that. The average JW is too immature to just leave him alone at a DA.
It's like I said before, everyone here is so anxious to believe anything they read but God forbid I came to your door with a Bible, you wouldn't even want to hear the truth. I am proud that I am studying to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses. And why does it bother you that Prince converted? He is not hurting or bothering any one of you. So, what difference does it make? He has become a better person and that is not for you to dispute or judge.
You sound very jaded. But Jehovah, nor his Witnesses are the one who jaded you. Once you come to accept the truth it is refreshing and freeing. Before then, you are trapped in this evil world thinking that is all God has done. Is make a world that I can barely raise my one year old daughter in. As soon as I realized the truth and the promises offered to me and my child if I would just serve and love God, then I was free. I am no longer afraid of death and losing people because I know what death really is and I know that Jehovah will ressurect them in the new system by means of his Son. That is so encouraging. I mean, what does this world really have to offer you? Besides pain and heartache?
harleau,
What on earth are you doing here?! They may find out..quick run! How did you stumble onto this site?
Your reaction was cute. Don't try to make it seem as if I am afraid of the brothers or the society when it is really you who is afraid.
Yes i'm afraid of them. I'm afraid they will take away the happiness that my husband has now. That they will talk him into leaving me because we believe differently. I'm afraid that they will come down hard on my inlaws and not allow them to interact with the wonderful son that they have. That they will take away his free will. The list goes on and on. Again, if you are not afraid of them, post you picture, post your info, and don't log this time on your "timecard"
I just joined and I will update my profile ASAP. But until then, I married a man who believes differently. They are not apart of a cult, they are not going to force anything down your throats nor will they limit any interaction your family may want to have with your son. What is a time card? I'm not very computer smart....
I love trust and have faith in the society that they were appointed by Jehovah.
Oh and you may wonder how I know these things. My situation is just like yours, just flipped and I have a one year old daughter.
What a silly little troll u are. I'm not knockin The Purple Publisher, as I mentioned that if he wants to study and be a JW, then whatever. I'm refering to the hypocrasy of those around him, specifically the society for bending the rules in regards to him and his lifestyle and music. I can easily referance many awake articles that commend those who leave a career behind, especially the entertainment field.
Don't call me a troll, Blind Man. If I weren't on the road to Baptism...
