Well to say the least I have not been much of a JW lately......young person just having trouble on the road of life...I drifted away from Jah and started moving toward witch Craft.....not the best decision of my life to say the least but I am trying to come back. I have not really ever been good with getting to the meetings having school homework friends and just my plain laziness but it seems to have gotten worse lately. My mom seems to have the impression that it is a good idea to try and force me to be a JW... I know it is right and all but I can't really do things when I am being forced...I just with things could be simpler. I am open for advise and all of that...I could really use it...
Just Rambling about things I gone through lately....could use advise....

Are you sitting down???
You have a lot of reading and research to do. Be sure to come back here Friday, and Saturday night, when you don't have school the next morning.
Ask questions here. There are many, many very kind persons here, that are very smart. Any questions that you ask, I can bet you, that the person who answers, will have references.
Don't be afraid to ASK!!!!!!!!! LEARN!!!!!!!!! RESEARCH!!!!!!!!!! USE THE BRAIN, THAT JEHOVAH GAVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ix-nay on the witch craft young man.....you will get in over your head before you know it......deal with one thing at a time.....school for now is just about enough.....if you have to prioritize, put school before JW meetings, but with due respect to your mother because you are too young to do otherwise.....for now.....

Welcome Retharen!
Being a young person is when you are suppose to mess-up some. It reinforces your sense of right and wrong. Don't beat yourself up to much. Ask for forgiveness when you are sorry and let it go. As for your Mom, as long as you are a minor, please be respectful, kind and obedient (obviously I am a mom...lol). Please stay in school, start looking at college plans that interest you! Plan for your future and the laziness will disappear. Many core classes can now be taken in High School! Many Degrees can be obtained online through state universities and community colleges!
As for the JW's I suggest you examine your values, wants, and core beliefs. When you are an adult if you choose to stay or go it will be based on sincerity. (Question? Are you baptized?)
Many here are angry at the path the WTBS has taken. Some feel that they have seen the little man behind the green curtain and are disenchanted. Most have been abused by the FDS or shepherds of their congregations.Others are frustrated and don't know where else to go, so they come here and vent some.
Those of us who are not Atheists will suggest that prayful reading of your Bible will lead you in the right direction.
Godspeed to you.
Y
I like my religion, I just think the men running it are idiots!

I agree that your studies should come first. You've been told that Jehovah's Witnesses have the "truth."
Just because someone says something doesn't make it true. I suggest your pursue your hobbies and interests and you might not feel so tired.
If you don't already, try to go for a walk and get some physical activity to clear your mind and help you think succinctly.
Best Wishes

Welcome!
You're young and impressionable. Be careful. Listen, learn, question. Take nothing for granted.

As for being lazy - it comes with the territory of being a teenager. Stop being lazy and do something about it. Study hard and get good grades, go to college and get a degree in something, preferably something that you will enjoy, pay well and that will enable you to continue to learn and grow as a person.
As for being a JW - I'm gonna be straight with, IT'S A BUNCH OF LIES. You are a minor, you have to do what you parent's say if for no other reason to respect them. When you finish school and are no longer a minor, leave the JW as fast as you can. If you are not already, do not get baptized!
Welcome to JWD hang around but don't forget to clear your history just in case your mom decides to snoop.

Another thought - why witchcraft??? Are you just trying to prove you are not a JW?
I did alot of things when I was a teenager just to prove to myself and anyone that may have been watching that I was not a JW. Be carefull

Hello and welcome to the board. You are obviously young and even though I am 30 there was tons about JW's I never knew because I was too young. Like the fact they thought vaccinations were bad until 1940!!! Think of all the people that needlessly suffered due to following their ignorant council: http://www.religioustolerance.org/witness6.htm
Also you will be suprised to find out that the date 1914 was originally when the END was supposed to come. http://www.bible.ca/Jw-Prophecy.htm
I suggest you study where your religion came from before jumping wholeheartedly back into it and DON'T get baptized until you are SURE it is what you want and you are old enough to be out of hte house and on your own. We ask all other religions in the door to door work to examine their religous past, especially Catholics with the crusades and all, but we never really study ours. Dont you deserve to make an informed opinion?
Best wishes to you in figuring all this out. I agree with the others, stick to school, go to college, get a good job, move out, then decide on religion.

My mom seems to have the impression that it is a good idea to try and force me to be a JW... I know it is right and all but I can't really do things when I am being forced...I just [wish] things could be simpler.
Slow down. You are juggling a bunch of balls here. I won't comment on the witchcraft thing. School is important for
your future. Did you know that JW's advise against college education? Isn't that a shame.Decide things for yourself. Don't let people "force" you to do anything.
Before saying "I know it is right and all" check it out for yourself. Look at outside sources to see what the
Witnesses are all about. Did you know that they tell members NOT to look at outside sources. Isn't that strange?
Don't let us or them make your ultimate life decisions for you, but compare what advice you get.
The JW's will tell you that college is bad and would tell you never to go to places like this forum or
jwfacts.com or freeminds.org. They would tell you never to read books from former members like
Ray Franz or Randy Watters or David Reed. They would certainly never approve of your looking into
opinions about whether they "force" members into obedience, but you already have a good idea about
whether that's true or not. Any young person who knows how to use the internet could look into those
things. Isn't it strange that they discourage such investigations?Stick around and ask questions all you want. As mentioned, check in more often when it doesn't interfere
with school.
