We were talking about things and she said she can't understand why I don't believe in God. I told her that the god she worshipped is going to destroy innocent children at armegeddon. She said that's not true...they don't believe that. I said that if a JW gets disfellowshipped and has a 6 month old baby and armegeddon happens, Jehovah is going to destroy both of them. She said that was FALSE religion and not true....that I'm being fed a lot of bullS*it on this board. Can any of you good folks point me to watchtower articles that talk about this? I think I'm right and that she doesn't even know what her own religion teaches. I really need some help on this one. I want to print this stuff directly from the Watchtower's CD. Thanks in advance.
I was having a discussion with my JW roomate and I need some HELP!!

You are absolutely correct in your interpretation of this view. I can't point to any specific WT or Awake! article, but take actual BIBLICAL situations for instance:
The Great Flood of Noah's Day: Do you think there were not children destroyed at that time?
Soddam & Gahmorrah: A truly wicked city, but there had to have been children there?
The First Born Children of Egypt: They were innocent children, but children of Pagan's that had pissed off God after Moses warned them. God wasn't afraid to send out the Angel of Death for them, so what makes your friend think the Armaggedon is going to be any different?
However, I do believe those children would be resurrected and given a chance, that is what the loving side of YHWH would do. Not only is God vengeful, but also merciful and loving all at once. He is the God of Love. One should not lose sight of that.
Clearly, the Bible shows us the God is not afriad to pass judgement on an entire community, children included. This is currently what they believe, as I have also heard that the when the Big A comes, whole communities would be judged in this manner AGAIN. I mean, they don't believe that EVERY SINGLE PERSON is going to get the message, but only that their message be kind of blanketed out over a region or such, to be somewhat known.
Your young roommate, like many young JW's of today (including my age, late 20's) doesn't know their own religion's history or intricate doctrinal issues. It is truly pathetic. I know more about JW beliefs now that I am out and researching, then when I attended.
Good Luck with your friend, she is in her own little JW fantasy land and doesn't even know it!!

Here's a start, but I know there is more.

Watchtower 1988 March 1 pp.23-27 Responsible Childbearing in This Time of the End
Children During the "Great Tribulation"
20 Ahead of us is the "great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world's beginning until now, no, nor will occur again." (Matthew 24:21) It will be a difficult time for adults and children alike. In his prophecy on the conclusion of the present system of things, Jesus foretold that Christian truth would divide families. He stated: "Furthermore, brother will deliver brother over to death, and a father a child, and children will rise up against parents and have them put to death." (Mark 13:12) Obviously, rearing children in the time of the end would not always be a pure joy. It could bring heartbreak, disappointment, and even danger, as Jesus' words quoted above show.
21 But while being realistic about the difficulties ahead, those who have young children should not be unduly concerned about the future. If they remain faithful themselves and do their best to bring up their children "in the discipline and mental-regulating of Jehovah," they can be confident that their obedient children will be favorably considered. (Ephesians 6:4; compare 1 Corinthians 7:14.) As part of the "great crowd," they and their young children can hope to survive "the great tribulation." If such children grow up to be faithful servants of Jehovah, they will be eternally thankful to him that they had responsible parents.-Revelation 7:9, 14; Proverbs 4:1, 3, 10.

Thanks WingCommander! I knew I was right. What's so strange to me is my rommate is 52 years old and has been studying with the JW's for 20 years or more (only been baptized about 2 years). Even though she is 52, she is in her own fantasy world when it comes to JW's. I really want some WT quotes on this...to prove to her this is actually what the JW's believe.

Also remember that God had the death angel kill every firstborn in Egypt, except for the Jews that had blood marked on their door.
Unless they have recently changed their doctrine (remember they have done this 1000 before) I was taught from the Kingdom Hall that only JW children would survive, and even then if they were past the age of accountability they could still be destroyed.
Everyone besides JW's will be destroyed at Armageddon, this is what was always taught to me growing up.
Im sorry I dont have any articles to reference you to, but Im sure Blondie or someone else here could find hundreds of articles that state the above. -

There have even been pics of children being destroyed right along side their parents in some of the publications. Your roommate either has selective memory, or she is practicing theocratic warfare (lying) to you

Hi
WT 51 1st May pages 287-288 QFR
'note that little children were included, to be slain without pity. This is a prophetic picture of the destruction at Armageddon'
WT 60 15th Jan page 55 This is a Time of Judgement
'Parents who reject the good news of the Kingdom and who ignore the good principles and wonderful purposes of Jehovah God cannot expect their minor children to survive the execution of divine judgement. Until a child reaches the age where it can be held responsible for its actions, it is under family responsibility. Divine punishment or blessing that comes to its parents automatically falls upon it. The principle is seen at Ezekiel 9:6, where God's command was to "slay utterly the old man, the young man and the virgin, and little children and women; but come not near any man upon whom is the mark'' _AS
The unresponsible children of the people who perished in the flood were not preserved with Noah in the ark, but were destroyed with their wicked parents. The same was true with regard to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. If those cities had contained ten righteous persons they would have been spared. Certainly there were more than ten unresponsible children in them; nevertheless, God destoyed the two cities.'

Hi
WT 83 15th Nov page 24 Pay Attention to Prophecy
'However, is it not a shocking thing for Jehovah to destroy this entire world system, with no part of it ever to be restored? Perhaps some feel as Abraham felt about Sodom and Gomorrah, that if only 50,or 45, or 30, or 20, or even 10 righteous persons could be found out there in the world, then ''the Judge of all the earth'' should not sweep it all away. (Gen 18:23-33) But the prophetic word makes it plain that Satan's world is unrighteous from top to bottom and that it will be completely wiped out! (Jeremiah 25:31-33; Zephaniah 3:8) The only flesh saved out of that ''great tribulation''will be, as Jesus himself stated, the dedicated ''flesh'' of his chosen anointed ones and of their sheeplike companions. No others are counted righteous in Jehovah's sight.'
Thanks
