What other cutbacks for WTS can you suggest?

  The Awake magazines are down to once a month. The new releases are now down to ONE book.
  There are several "special campaigns" of offering leaflets- invitations to the Memorial or DC and Kingdom News.
  Here are some of the additional possible cost-saving measures. Please add to the list:

  Discontinue Awake (or combine the public WT with Awake).
  Put the Kingdom Ministry inside the "members only" WT.
  Stop using color ink in the printing.
  Stop training missionaries, just get people to move there on their own.
  Discontinue actual printing of "members only" mags.
  Let the cong. download and print their own
  Lay off half of the C.O.'s and let the remainder take on bigger circuits with less visits.
  Sell more properties.
  Lay off more staff.
  Get HQ out of NYC- go to a tropical island or undeveloped country.
  Build even more Assembly Halls (Stop renting and soak the locals for donations even higher than rent was at private facilities.)

  A total reversal of the Sept 2007 Kingdumb Misery. They need to require independent Bible research and study for all those who wish to continue studying the Bible, since they will no longer have a Governing Body to do the research for them. That also eliminates the need for administration costs, the costs of running Kingdumb Hells, and the need for field circus since it would all be done on your home computer. You type "Bible" in a search engine of your choosing and read the Bible that way (along with commentaries), and several sources for proper integration.

  Of course, that would take control away from Ted Jaracz. He would no longer be able to control people's lives, since they would now be getting their Bible information from independent sources. The people would choose which sources they want to use. And, of course the old fashioned way of small independent groups meeting in person with hard copies of their favorite (accurate) translation of the Bible will also do. Either way, it would eliminate all costs to the Watchtower Society aside from the lawsuits that they are going to reap bountifully.

  Have a universal system that allows people to "hear" the meetings at home. They can still be in "attendance" and you don't need a KH along with all of the bills, insurance and liabilities that one must deal with the physical property. In other words, have a system like the infirm use to "never miss a meeting while at home"!

  They could save a packet if they stopped printing all those 'No Blood' cards every year and allowed their members to make their own informed choices with their health care.

  A variation on the "Don't train missionaries" may already be starting. I recently heard of a young married couple who have been pioneering about 5 years who have been assigned as Special Pioneers here in the U.S. Special Pioneers have been a dying breed for many years. Don't know if this was just a rare exception, or perhaps the start of a cost saving trend. My guess is that they may use it as a "proving ground" to weed out those that don't have what it takes for a foreign assignment.

  Actually they have stopped the "Every Year" Blood Card update ritual. Now it's only when there's a change to the form itself or if an individual wants to change some information on the form.

  Why have Kingdom Halls? Why not just build an office complex, keeping a conference area for JW's and renting out the rest.

  Why not just meet in a public park for picnic Sunday service: It can be billed as a "public witness"

  Bookstudy- all private homes

  TMS- Office (members only)

  Now the electric & water bill is less, mortgage is paid by tenents.

  Turn the wt and awake into un-dated booklets. The r&f would only distribute brochures d2d. The wt & awake replaces books and are used to study.

  Do away with the bookstudy.

  Another brilliant idea..

  Forget publishing, develope a hypnotic Dvd and Audio presentations: Play them to Members and at public witnessing sites. Advertise them on TV like the Mormons, Send them to colleges with Religion history courses, send them to everyone!....TOTAL WORLD DOMINATION!!!!
