Do you qualify for the PELL or SEOG grants (or whatever they're called nowadays)?
Also, the loan you're paying off now - could that be deferred until graduation? If it's a student loan, you can get a deferment for a certain period (I think without owing interest).
I will post my reply to this tomorrow.

I second that motion

Join the Navy. They will pay for your room and board and education. If you stay in for 20 years you will be retired when you are 40. If you dont want to stay in 20 years, stay in until you get the education that you want. 4 to 10 years.
When I went back to school to get me my design degree I was 23. I had to move back in with my parents (free rent) and the only expenses I had was gas, car insurance, phone bill, and food. Since I lived at home with my parents I had chores with I felt was a good trade for rent, oh and sometimes I helped with my parents' cleaning business. I didn't eat much so food cost was almost nil and I was skinny, which was great. I was in school fulltime and worked as much as I could around my school schedule; babysitting and retail jobs. My sister lived on campus while she was in college for a short time and then moved off campus and got roommates, sometimes as many as 5 or 6 in a house. She worked on campus and various other jobs to support herself. Both of us had student grants and loans. It can be done but you'll have to live without the niceities until you can really afford them. Go part-time at school for a short while, drop cable, go fulltime on job, paid off those credit cards, get a student loan and/or a grant, get a roommate, and find a food program like SHARE or Angel Food Ministries to defray food cost.

Not the NAVY... I lived in a Navy town and learned a lot. The worse thing I learned, they don't do as much nor pay as much as the Air Force or Army. And their housing sucks.
Do stay in school though. You'll never regret that.

If you join the military, enlist in the Air Force. Best housing,(for sure), I have heard better food, less likely to see action (though better trained now in case you do). If you are in college, you are smart enough to get a good job classification and may be able to get OTJT in the field you are going to school for. PLUS, the GI bill, VA housing, etc. OH, and they provide clothing and I think they have cable in the dorm rooms. This is the reason why college kids tend to dress funky. If mom and dad aren't paying, you get creative about everything. Another option for housing and living expenses would be caretaking for children or the elderly. Many times the schedules can work and the duties may be light, providing room, board and a small wage.
If you're going to a traditional college can you transfer your credits to an online schooling? Make sure you get in with a good creditable college though before you just sign up online if you go that route. Online schools are a bit more flexible with time just as long as you turn in your assignments on time. Then you can put more hours in at your job or change jobs that will give you more hours.
Also, I live in a very small apartment. I have to admit I do not have any health insurance because I can't afford it either. I'm just crossing my fingers I don't get sick or need to stay in a hospital for any reasons. To get insurance for me is over $150 which is more than I can handle at this moment. Fortunately my kids are covered under their dad's insurance until they are 18.
It's tight but I manage through each month.
My loans are being paid through two kinds of student loans (I can't remember which ones now). Though, I'm not sure if that's an option or not because I got my loans being a single mom of two small children.
