"Dinosaurs and the Bible? You mean Jaracz and his buddies in Brooklyn? What do they have to do with the Bible? Not much, actually. See, they think they're Bible scholars, but they're not."

Oh..hehe...you did say answer as a JW, didn't you?

The generic answer was "Just wait on Jehovah and eventually he will reveal"

Which really means, "Stop asking questions!"

Remember the two legged dinosaur inside the front cover of the Green NWT?

    I liked him.

Heh heh. Me too. Much time as a child at meetings was spent wondering about that one lonely dinosaur wandering around the desert.

Dinosaurs were usually taken to be a myth, and all the fossils that were found were hoaxes (like the Piltdown man, which was used regularly as the example of how "corrupt" scientistis were!!!).

    Me to.

I think he was in the Egypt area, hence that is what the Egyptians used to build the pyramids that Jehovah used to lock in 1914.

If I remember correctly, I learned (or had the understanding) that the dinosaurs were put on earth on the 5th and/or the beginning of the 6th day of creation, and removed again before the man was created.
This must have been after they received new light on the lenght of one creation day, of course...

There was an Awake in the mid 90's, wasn't it, about the dinosaurs? I remember the illustration of the size of the gigantic brontosaur (or something) compared to a human.
But I can't remember if the articles said anything about when they lived, and what happened.

Yes - the almighty God who had just created the entire huge universe, decided it would be a good idea to create gigantic animals that would fertilize the ground, and kill them off when their job was done, instead of simply creating fertile soil on earth directly to begin with. Sadly, since all the dinosaurs (according to JWs) were herbivores, and plants hadn't been created because the dinosaurs hadn't left their droppings to make fertile soil yet, because there were no plants to eat because the dinosaurs hadn't left their droppings yet... ...well, you get the picture... the dinosaurs probably died before their job was completed, or even begun.

    Or:

Yes - the almighty God who had just created the entire huge universe, decided it would be a good idea to create gigantic animals that would keep vegetation down so there would be a garden for mankind, and kill them off when their job was done, instead of simply directly directing the growth of vegetation himself.

    Or:

The dinosaurs were created like any other animal, but were killed off in the global flood of Noah's day, ~ 4400 years ago. Why weren't they granted access to the ark? What about the sea-dwelling dinosaurs? What about bones found in rock that is clearly older than ~ 6000 years? [ooops, sorry - that was intended for young earth creationists. JWs say the days were indefinite periods of time now IIRC].

All of the above are perfectly logical, biblical explanations (that admittedly raise a few questions).

They didn't have Archeologists back then, so they knew nothing about dinosaurs. According to Wikipedia:

".....It was only in the 19th century that the systematic study of the past through its physical remains began to be carried out."

-But you'd think God, the Author of the Bible and Creator of the dinosaurs, would have known about them?
