I am trying to plan my daughter's baby shower.

is it tacky to NOT have a theme.......you know like Winnie the Pooh?

I have been sitting here making individual handmade invitations and think.....I should have just bought them.

I think I need to recruit one of her friends to help me AND

how long before the due date do you have the shower? She is due JAN 27th, but in decemer is x-mas and Nov is Thanksgiving.

And what about asking guys, She has four brothers and I dont want to let them off the hook for GIFT giving!!!!!!!

help......I am not good at this stuff, I avoided them when I was a witness, for all the phoney stuff

but i know this will mean alot to both of us.

If it were me that was expecting...I think my theme would be.....

    "I"d rather have a puppy!"

I didn't have a theme. Mine was in a Steak House. LOL. The decorations were baby carriages and blue balloons. I was having a boy. I had a cake that was baby carriage shaped. Around here, it's not uncommon for men to come to baby showers, though they can become completely bored.

When a woman I worked with was pregnant, her doctor asked her at her ultrasound if she wanted to know what she was having. She said "Well, I know it's not a puppy!"

I just wanted steak the whole time I was pregnant.

Oh, and at work they all pitched in and bought me diapers instead of having a baby shower for me there. I ended up with a whole backseat full of diapers and a couple of those giant boxes of baby wipes. That was actually the best gift I received.

Yeah have it elsewhere it's one big thing you won't have to worry about. With all the holidays coming up I can see your delima, I would think some time soon after the first of the year like maybe the first weekend would be a good time and soon enough before babies arrival, especially if your daughter knows she is having a shower she won't go out and buy stuff.

Theme....do you know if it's a boy or girl? Maybe go with whatever she is decorating the baby's room in, that always works so then she'll get gifts along the same theme.

    Wow sounds exciting, have fun!
