The Jw's brought doctrine into a form you could tolerate, reformed the religion to allow better tolerance of those who disagree, and made prolific apology to those whom it has hurt [I know that some have been hurt that are not any longer with us, etc. That's not my point.], would you forgive them, and if you still believe in God, would you consider going back?

I know. I know. These things are not ever going to happen. But if they did....?

If they did all those things you mentioned and transformed themselves into a more mainstream religion, such as Catholicism, then I would most likely go back from time to time and call myself a Jehovah's Witnesses again, even though I now consider myself to be agnostic. Why? Because it would provide comfort to my parents in the latter stages of their lives to think their son is "right with God" and it's just more acceptable in society in general for a person to have some sort of religious affiliation. But you're right, it's not going to happen.

No. For me it was simply that I no longer believed it was the truth. Them reforming and making apologies for all their wrongs wouldn't change that fact. If it was the truth, there would be no need for reform.

With God's help, I've already forgiven them. But even if they became mainstream Christians, I still wouldn't return. Too much bad history. Besides, I'm quite happy with the church that I attend now and see no reason to leave.

NEVER - there is nothing they could do to make up for all of the suffering and heartache they have caused by dividing families, allowing children to be molested and raped,...

don't get me started, don't even get me started.

No. I don't need to follow a group ever again. They have proven that they have no credibility. Forgiveness is one thing... and I could do that... but giving them any kind of authority over me again?.... absolutely not. They are not who they claim to be...never have been...so why would anyone trust them?

wow- I have an ache in my heart for the Org that only a quick build KH could fix. All those BeUtiful kingdumb melodies- a house to house we go- five meetings a week or even 3 or 4, whatever- I watch too much TV anyway, they would probably say. And a tie and suit every week- makes a man feeeel g-great. My public speaking is surely rusty and in need of the THeOcraTic School ass-ignments from the faithful slave. -

Something tells me the KH just would just not be ready for us to come back.

    Jk-Jeff....

Its a nice thought, but seems impossible. I am so burned out on organized religion, and the concept that God does not approve of me. It would be pretty hard to undo what has been done.

    What a thought.

No. It's impossible to undo what they've done to people. How would they bring back to life those that died from stupid man-made interpretations on blood or vaccinations? How would they undo the verbal rape of women by asking if they screamed during an actual rape? How can they bring back those who died by suicide after being disfellowshipped unjustly by ice cream salesmen and locksmiths?

Oh man, I have to get off this thread, this is not healthy for me.

    No. Just. No.
