  Well would you look at that...one little change and all the sudden no one is offended. Isn't getting offended a choice? Isn't anyone else kind of put off by how quickly people are hushed up if they happen to say anything negative about a powerful enough minority?

  There are so many things that are more important.

  I absolutely love the race discussions...some folks are so touchy but most get it.

  But I'm from Louisiana and there's still a lot of bad stuff that happens. People worry about this guy saying something out of the way and every day there are people in the south that happen to be black and will never get out of poverty because of it. In my hometown they are over 70% of the population but are almost completely excluded from society.

  Talk about screwed up prioroties.

  I know this is a joke but I'm going to post a seriousish response, This is the problem with the whole joke. It doesnt work. You can post a joke about white males all day long but not blacks. The reason that it's ok to call a white guy a "honky" and not ok to call a black guy a "nigger" is that it's impossible to make a white guy feel bad about himself or his place in society. You call a white guy a red neck he's going to laugh and not even care. If he's got one tooth in his third grade educated head driving a crap pickup and living in a trailer he's STILL not going to feel bad about himself for being called a red neck, or honky, or trailer trash, or ANYTHING. What could you call him to make him genuinely feel bad about himself? NOTHING!

  Now you take a black guy and call him a "nigger" or "boy" and you know what he's gonna get mad and have attitude and all that crap but no matter what stage of life he's at he's really going to feel bad about himself inside.

  To ME that is the difference... Thats why the thread about blacks being less intelligent will get such a response and this one won't.

  How do you know what other people (black or white) feel inside of themselves, Mkr? You can't. You can only know what you feel. You are making a huge assumption with those statements.

  Are red rednecks also less intelligent? What about black rednecks? What about red whitenecks? What about sneeches? How about sneeches with peaches?

  I was listening to a scientist who helped decode the human genome on national television. He specificly said there was NO correlation between the color of one's neck and their intelligence. I believe the color of human's necks had something to do with sunscreen!

  There are lots of shows about less intelligent white folks. It's called "Anything on Prime Time Monday through Friday". I guess that's why I'm constantly turning on the History Channel or TLC or Discovery. Before I watch primetime television, I have to ask myself a very serious question: "Can my body withstand the amount of pot I would have to smoke to make this show interesting?" And usually the answer is "No".

  It's amazing. The more intelligent you become, the less race matters to you. I'm not aware of too many white supremacists with PhDs or too many black supremacist bankers or lawyers.

  And, by the way, rednecks are intelligent. They're masters of their surroundings. They wouldn't last a second in New York City, but a guy from New York City wouldn't last a second in the redneck's town, either. Sometimes it depends what part of the country you're standing in to determine just how dumb you are.

  I haven't watched tv in a couple years. It's such an utter waste of time--1/3 of it's commercials, and the shows that are on leave one feeling brain dead.
