A recent thread explained the difference between atheism and agnosticism and I arrived at the same conclusion...I'm agnostic.

After more careful thought on the matter, I guess I am an atheist after all. Or at least an agnostic leaning really far towards atheism.

marmot - your original post on this thread sums up how I feel about things right now. Not being tied to a belief that one is "pleasing god" and will thus be rewarded after death is completely liberating. But at the same time, it compels us to be accountable for our actions here and now, to plan for the future, to make improvements on our lives to the best of our abilities, instead of "waiting on Jehovah".
The jury is still out on the existance of god for me. I'm not actively seeking that answer either. If god is such a "GOD", then I think he ought to come slap me in the back of the head and say "Hey, exwitless, you idiot. I am God and here's what I want you to do..." Until then, I plan to continue living my life in a responsible and intelligent way. I no longer blame god for not intervening, nor do I pray fervently for him to get me out of a mess that I got myself into. I take full responsibility for my life now, and I can't imagine giving that control back to some obscure "sky daddy".
