I don't understand the benifit of censoring yourself out of contact with all the diversity of intellect even (ahem) obves

Some people are so bent on the point of whats in the head that they see it in everything and cant really comunicate well

I tend to overlook fluffy things as I like content that has something to do with the underlying human condition that causes suffering, just becuase I like seeing things heal or grow

    Complaints nah don't like them

Questions about "how something can be changed because it hurts" those always interest me

I have to say that there are/were 2 people that I avoid(ed) if I noticed their names as the author of a thread. One of them now does not post due to his recent lack in judgment. The other one ALWAYS uses great topic headers and I fall for it every time it seems. I am interested in the topic header but when I click on it I find he states something without backup information. Very frustrating. I want my 2 minutes of lost time back. LOL!

    Other than that I don't avoid anyone's post's.

The other thing that DOES get to me are the threads that lead you on. For example,..."I am leaving." I click on the thread only to find out the person IS leaving but for a short holiday. grrr... I also click on some topics that lead you in one direction and then when you click on it the person says something to the effect of "Now that I have your attention..." Double grrr...

One middle-aged poster sent me a rather unkind PM once when I was at a very low point.

I chalked it up to that person having issues of their own or other non-related negative circumstances at that moment.

But it really hurt at the time.

I have nothing against the guy, in fact I get a kick out of him.

I also think that some long-time posters that have met over the years feel like family and see some of the more "junior" members as interlopers in their "home".

Comments are often made about the "good old days" when JWD was full of smart people.

It is often lamented that it is currently inhabited by a bunch of idiots that pale in comparison to the glorious ones of yesteryear.

    Isn't this just human nature?

We saw it in the Kingdom Hall.

" These brothers today just aren't as zealous. Remember when we'd be out in service till dark? Alot of these newer ones quit at noon. They don't prepare for the meetings. They're not as loving...blah, blah, blah."

I've seen in it every company I ever worked with or for.

" These new guys suck. Remember So-And-So? Now he knew his job! They don't make them like that anymore."

I try to be aware of these pre-existing relationships and show respect and deference to all.

In the end, posting here has helped me to thicken my skin a bit.

Not everyone is gonna like you and that's ok.

As much as I've posted, I know I've annoyed some people.

But it's been very therapeutic and I've made a few friends along the way.

I dont shun anybody. Some topics are more interesting to me than others. I'm not looking for anything to deep or down the godspell hole. I've come out of that abyss.

I thought you were dead. How is it on the other side. Did you see my father?

No. not on purpose anyway. I will however avoid topics that don't interest me but not posters. I usually never comment on the threads I read most because I don't have anything to contribute to them; but I enjoy reading other people's posts on those topics.

I enjoy everybodies posts. Even off beat people. I feel we can all learn much from each other . I don't shun anybody. Some who mentioned it is too much like the witnesses, are right. We had enough of that in our respective lives. Some of us are still getting shunned from witness relatives. It's good that we don't do it here . If we did, then what would be the point of turning to this forum for solace from problems ? Peace out to all my fellow posters, Mr. Flipper

No, I would never shun anyone. I enjoy reading all kinds of posts on all kinds of subjects. But I always feel I have nothing to bring. So I post my $0.02 on light topics:-)
