    I'm feeling sooo misunderstood.

I hope the Costa Rican ladies aren't so quick to judge motives.

We drove to one of the most beautiful Italian lakes, coming down from the mountains and suddenly here was this beautiful scene.. The locals were so dear, and tried very hard to direct us to the lake....the lake.... Lago Degardo.... breath taking! We were in high season and couldn't get a room.... after climbing up the side of a mountain. Drove for hours way back into Northern Italy. Picked up some kids from Russia and helped them towards their destination. Handed them a $20.00 US. I think we left them with pretty good feelings about U.S. Citizens.....

    llbh....you said

    The driving though is crazyyyyy

Oh My god we were going crazy in some Italian city...the street names changed at every block and so did the turn lanes.....and the the direction of each lane.

We finally found our Hotel and took the train everywhere else in Italy except Venice.

Venice was much like Disney land here in the US. A long drive in with lots of traffic, parking cost a fortune and you could hire a boat or walk in. We walked in......It was a fascinating and beautiful, place but seemed overpriced and full tourists and mainly full of merchants trying to sell thier wares at very high prices. We walked and walked. One visit was enough in a life time.

I have since found that the Venetian glass being sold in the streets of Venice can be found here in the states at 1/3 the price at Marshalls and Tuesday morning.

For instance I was looking at parrots with 24 carat gold infused highlights for about $250.00 a piece. Here in the states I found the same birds for $60.00 each.

I loved Florence, and seeing the original "David"....It was breathtaking...I don't think I've seen anything more beautiful including any artwork in Paris.

The only ugly thing we witnessed in Florence was 2 American lesbians making out in front of a work of art....it was the most distasteful thing I have ever seen in my life, and the most embarassing as an American citizen, even trumping some of Bush's statements..... anywhere I have been.
