I was thinking of celebrating this year, but am unfamiliar with the nuances of Halloween. Tell me, what sort of costume is appropriate for a 28 year old man to wear when trick or treating? Is it in bad taste to specify which forms of treats are acceptable? My third belly laugh today, John Doe. Thanks! |
Trick or Treat anyone?

I think we will dispense with the human sacrifice this year and just go house to house.

We did trick or treating for the first time properly in Florida when we visited Steve and Joy. We still have the photos and the kids realy loved it.
Unfortunately, it wasn't very big in miserable wet Salford so we only made a token effort after that.
This year is our first Halloween in Canada though and boy, is it BIG here! We have a few things rigged up (I bought a smoke / fog machine ... yay!) and some candy ready. The kids have costumes too.
Just one question, how much candy are you supposed to buy? I don't want to run out but also I don't want to end up with a years supply.
My backup plan is of course to send the kids out on another round to bring back more ... that I can then hand out again

Other than making a pumpkin pie I won't be doing anything.

Simon, ask your neighbors. My town of 5,500, has 3 streets, where the kids are sure to come. I live on one of them. I stopped handing out any kind of chocolate a long time ago. Way too expensive. Sweet-tarts, smarties, and nerds, are cheaper, and always a hit.
If you live in town be prepared
If your home, is in a nicer area of town, be prepared
If you have alot of children, who live on your block. be prepared.
If you have lot of houses, in a small area, be prepared
If you have decorated already, be prepared

Oh crap. LOL
Yeah, I'll ask the neighbours.
I'm starting to realise that the 'crazy woman with a shopping cart full of candy' in Wallmart may know something we don't ...
Is it considered bad etiquette to send your kids out and then hide in the basement with the light off?
