OTWO, why is Inkling no longer a MS?
Minimus, I don't know everyone's story here on JWD, but I generally understand the
story that frequent posters have. The more recent stories with high posters are
higher on the priorities list.I just try to look back if I don't remember before I ask a question. Looking back at
inkling's posts, I found this quite easily:Over the past few months I have had many hours worth of
conversations with my parents, my friends, and the
elders. These conversations have been often frustrating,
occasionally enlightening, and surprisingly honest.I have openly admitted to: doubting in God, not believing
or respecting particular statements in the Watchtower,
not believing there is one true religion, questioning
the name of God, admitting the plausibility of evolution,
denying that a loving God should be held responsible for
the laws found in the old testament, and even to reading
apostate literature, including R Franz. All of this information was volunteered by me, on my terms,
with as much tact, love, and sensitivity to their position
as possible. The results have been surprisingly non explosive.Despite what I had come to expect from the "coming out"
experiences on the Internet, I found the elders to be
understanding, sincere, and kind.Paranoid? Yes.
Vastly ignorant of the issues discussed? Yes.But I simply saw sincere (if narrow) people, trying desperately
to help a wounded sheep. No Big Brother. No Inquisition.
I'm not sure why, and quite a few times a feel I VERY
narrowly dodged the "Loyalty Test", so I KNOW your highly
negative experiences are true, and I totally see how, with
a slightly different attitude, mine could have crashed and
burned in very similar ways, but that fact remains it did not.The Elders are awaiting a letter confirming my stepping down
as a MS. I am still allowed, and in fact massively encouraged,
to still go out in field service despite not really believing
in the literal truth of The Bible (!), Although my conscience
has not allowed me to go out for several months now. -

With all the ministerial servants and elders dropping out, or being dropped, it won't be long before we go back to Congregation Servants!! Oh happy day.

USE THIS OPPORTUNITY!
Since you have still been given an assignment talk, why don't you use this opportunity to express from BIBLE scripture instead of Tower jargon that your sins and confessions are between you and your maker alone and that Jesus was sent as an intecessor. I am sure you can find lots of scripture to back that up. Use this opportunity to present some of the truths that the tower has neglected to tell people. Or maybe how in some religions confession is held secret and sacred (like catholic) but in other religions where one must confess to the brethern, they make rules which allow them to reserve the right to pass judgement according to their whims and make public announcement of a confession to shame people and hurt their reputation and self esteem.
You can do more good to stay on and speak more freely, knowing that they no longer hold power over you or the truth. You will be truly helping others this time. Don't DA before you speak your mind. Salt of the earth? Put a little pepper in your talks.

Hi inkling,
View this as a very important step in fading (I assume that's your intention). I went through all this about a year ago. The after-awkwardness is indeed excruciating, as everyone either avoids you completely, or gives you a sad, pupp-dog face, extending their pity out to you, maybe giving you little slaps on the back. Its very cultish, when you think about it. A pseudo-disciplinary measure - and they love to watch you try to climb your way back up, giving those #2 and #4 talks, when a month ago you gave the public talk in another hall, or the Q&A on your mid-week meeting. This is your time to demonstrate your humility and willingness to do whatever is asked of you to regain your spiritual balance or whatever sin youve commited. Pretty sick.
Hang in there, and don't give em an inch! (and never talk to any JW about anything having to do with your fade, ever).
