I remember reading on a thread probably a year or so back that some of the WT shareholders, some of the many who are now shareholders of multiple WT companies, are NOT JWs!

Can someone enlighten me on this and how this could come about in the first place?

I take it that should the WT actually 'dissolve' these shareholders would take whatever is left financially in the companies! Is this also correct?

this has always perpelexed me, but nobody can get me a straight answer.

I always suspect that the WT (just like a company) has boardmembers that own a stake, and get paid mucho $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I remember this too from several years back. I didn't save the source... and am kicking myself for it.

Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one to remember this.

What could be the motivation for an almost isolationist and certainly a cult that believes it is the ultimate religion, to absorb 'non believers' into their management structure?!

    Bizarre!

    Gill,

    I've wondered this too.

Could be connections to be used for their own benefit... could be that not all is at it appears, and that there are other forces pulling the strings... who knows? Could be that the shares are somehow passed down in families and at some point it's left to someone who is not a dub... Wish I knew. I would be fascinating to research.... wish I had the time

    Hi Junction-Guy!

It probably was one of your posts if you have written about this. What do you know about these shareholders and where did you hear of them?

It certainly is a fascinating topic. Sort of makes you wonder who REALLY is running the show in Brooklyn!

I'll check back on this thread tomorrow!

    Thanks for any information!

spent a few minutes googleing this subject....and found this.

http://www.cesnur.org/2007/bord_chryssides.htm won't help with the names of shareholders..but adds a little more to the question.
