Do You Think We Pick On Jehovah's Witnesses Here--- On This Site?

There are times when a few of our posters feel the need to yank a JW poster too hard.

I believe that JW posters who end up here, ready to attack, should be handled with care as well. Some of them are still trying to defend their religion. After all, years of brainwashing cannot disappear just like that. If they find anger and sarcasm, I believe it may only set them even further in their own way of thinking.

We claim there is no genuine love between JWs. They should be able to find it and feel it here.

If a JW comes on here to bring up ideas or questions in a reasonable manner, they not only deserve our respect but our support! That was daring of them to come here.

    I agree.

Although I have not been here long enough to find an apologist that hasn't been rude or condescending,

I am still waiting for a respectful discussion with one of them.

I enjoy exposing JWs for what they really are. I get the sense at times that some might think we pick on them.

Maybe....but how else am I supposed to get my pioneer hours in?

I think there's a fair bit of exaggeration that goes on here from time to time, but when it gets too far over the top, someone will usually reign it in with a reality check.

So, "picked on" as a religion? Yes.

Attacked as individuals, not so much.

I have a feeling that polite & sincere true-believing JWs who are open to honest discussion of all areas of doctrine and policy are a pretty rare occurrence on JWD. (I have yet to see one.) And I don't think it's because they don't exist. IMO, those who fit that description will probably do considerable lurking first. In the process of lurking, they will either experience a painful awakening or go away. By the time they are ready to post, the desire to defend JWs is gone.

It would be good to see what TheScotsman thinks of the way he's been treated throughout his amazing journey on this site. We could probably learn some very constructive things about how we approach JW's

As an 'outsider' to JW's, I see varying reactions from different posters - some will gently reason and stay patient when their probing is sidestepped, misinterpreted or ignored. I see this as a good method. It worked with me when I was hanging on to my strictly RC mindset.

Of those who seem to display little patience I wonder if some are expressing their own hurt/anger - maybe reflecting onto the JW, the annoyance they actually feel towards themselves at having been misled?

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say - I don't want flaming!

We provide them with needed persecution which reinforces their resolve to continue living their foolish way of life.

Here's a better question. " Do you think Jehovahs witnesses pick on apostates, by shunning them and ruining family ties?

Or how about, " Do you think, that incorrect information taught as truth, should not be scrutinized and if it is, is this called picking on them.?

We pick out the wrongs in that organization because we were part of it before! It's not picking on them, it's therapy for us!
