  Just been sent this in an e-mail :

  MAGIC #1An Indian discovered that nobody can create a FOLDER
  anywhere on the computer which can be named as "CON".
  This is something pretty cool...and unbelievable. ..
  At Microsoft the whole Team, couldn't answer why this
  happened!
  TRY IT NOW ,IT WILL NOT CREATE " CON " FOLDER ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ----- MAGIC #2For those of you using Windows, do the following:
  
  1.) Open an empty notepad file
  2.) Type "Bush hid the facts" (without the quotes)
  3.) Save it as whatever you want.
  4.) Close it, and re-open it.

  This is something pretty cool and neat...and
  unbelievable. .. At Microsoft the whole Team,
  including Bill Gates, couldn't answer why this
  happened!

  yourself...
  
  Open Microsoft Word and type
  
  =rand (200, 99)
  
  And then press ENTER

  Very strange, indeed.

  I tried #2 and then repeated with the words 'I hid the facts' and the text was saved just fine.

  Odd, though... I think in both cases it also created another 'New Text Document' with no content.

  #3 was kinda cute.

  For some reason I'm reluctant to try #1.

  wow, that is weird I tried them all. No one really knows why that happens? It must just be bugs that need to be fixed.

  You can't name a folder "con" because it is a reserved name from the days of DOS.

  Any sentence, most any sentence, with the stucture of 4 letters, 3 letters, 3 letters, 5 letters will result in the chinese characters. You can type hhhh hhh hhh hhhhh and get the same result.

  The =rand(200,99) is a macro in word that displays the entire alphabet in one sentence. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. It's normally used to check fonts. You can type =rand(10,5) and get less paragraphs(200) and sentences (99). 200 paragraphs and 9 sentences per paragraph is the max.

  Still fun tricks to play on folks.

  When I ran a BBS, someone uploaded a piece of software that creates too many folders in Windows and ruins your OS. I probably still have it somewhere. Might be fun to play with on an old PC.
