IT SAID THINGS LIKE SINCE THE GREAT FLOOD,THERE WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE BEEN A NEW SPECIES EVERY FIVE MONTHS,IF ONLY TWO OF EVERY `KIND' WAS ON THE ARK.

ONE SPECIES WOULD HAVE HAD A MUTATION RATE 500,000 TIME ITS PRESENT DAY MUTATION RATE.

THE PROBLEM WITH THAT IS THAT SUCH AN ORGANISM WOULD GO EXTINCT.

What I see is who or what ever put us here, designed or caused to happen kinds. Insects are a kind, mamals are a kind, fish are a kind, etc. Believers in design call variations within a kind adaptation. I think that they dont want to use the word evolution because that implies that life came forth from an amoeba.

I think the debate is did we come from an amoeba or were we designed.

I dont really believe in the bible but when I hear people support evolution, I cant help think of the scripture where it says

24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen

I dont mean to preach but to hear people embrace evolution almost makes me want to get my bible out and start reading it again.

If you scour the internet there are endless sites explaining how evolution/abinogenisis can not be. There are no sites explaing how it can be.

Or let me be more clear. There are sites that explain in understandable ways how evolution cant be. There are no sites that can explain in ways that I can understand how abinogenisis and evolution from fish to mamal can happen and that hold up to scrutiny and mathematical test.

For starters the earth hasnt been here long enough for things to have evolved even if you accept carbon dating and an old earth when you factor in distance and heat from the sun the math doesnt work. Or at least thats what I am reading.

I have no problem with believing in evolution but from where I am looking, its like trying to convince a thinking perosn that the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.

I think people are mad at the concept of God and religion and evolution is the antithesis of both. So they wave the flag of the opposition, evolution. I think the truth may have nothing to do with God or religion.

The Society's rejection of YEC, btw, makes the hyperevolution even less more problematic. By rejecting a literal reading of Genesis (which would require a YEC view), the "seventh day" becomes not a 24-hour day but an epoch that continues to the present. That means that God could not have been creating after the Flood, so the manifold post-Flood speciation would truly be evolution, and not even God-directed evolution per se.

The creation museum btw is an abomination.

jaguarbass, I'll just say what will from now on be my standard reply on these matters: Read "The Blind Watchmaker" and "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. I don't view Dawkins as some kind of "god" (as the inevitable counter argument of this post would be by some), I just happen to mostly agree with him and think he articulates his (and now my) views in a good way, and at the same time manages to make himself understood for people who lack the higher education to really go deep into the matter (but the deeper understanding is there for those who wish to find it).

Of course, simply stating "God mustv'e dunn it." is a lot easier, and easier to understand for most people than scientifically establishing a whole theory and reading enough to understand it, but there are many resources which can explain evolution in quite the layman's terms (like those mentioned).

The WTS alluded to micro-evolution in last years special CREATION Awake

I've never understood why you can't believe in both. I believe in God and evolution to an extent. I do believe God is the Creator. I don't believe in the big bang... that whole thing is retarded. I do believe though in species changing over time, adapting to certain things, etc. It doesn't mean God didn't create them. Look at people... the majority of them are increasingly less intelligent. :) One wonderful example is the idiots at the FDA releasing the new nasal spray--- Veramyst--- "Side effects include nosebleed or nasal sores. Nasal fungal infection, glaucoma, or cataracts may occur." AKA- We'll fix your allergies, but f*ck up your eyes and nose... ALSO on the commercial it says across the bottom of the screen in small print: "The way VERAMYST works is not fully understood." ... wow. Go ahead and release in into the general population. Nice.
