So... hubby and I have been getting into discussions with a lot of people lately about the WTS. I want SO BAD to know what to believe... I don't believe that the 'truth' is the one true religion anymore, BUT I don't know what to believe anymore when it comes to certain things... what happens to you after you die, etc. SO, I've been praying a lot (I still believe in God) asking him to direct me somewhere, just give me something to believe in. So hubby and I and the kids went out for lunch today, and who do I see but an older 'sister' who I actually really liked when I was little. She was like a grandma figure to me. Of course, she starts in on the questions... then the 'it's not too late' speech. I walked away feeling like a disappointment and feeling guilty. Convince me that this is NOT God's answer to my prayers, please?
PLEASE tell me I'm crazy!!!

I'm afraid that it is the truth, and that God heard your prayer.... and is guiding you back to the loving congregation.
I'm maybe crazy too !!!

Ok. Here's one.
Solomon wrote (in Ecclesiastes 9:11) -- "Time and unforeseen occurrence befall us all". So it was unforeseen that this JW would be there, it just happened coincidentally. It lends nothing at all to the credence of the JW belief system. Have you thoroughly researched the JW belief system, and read "Crisis of Conscience"? This kind of systematic examination is more reliable then a chance meeting in a restaurant.
I can relate to you a scientific study that shows prayer is totally ineffective, if you'd like. (It was observed under controlled conditions, but I won't go into detail unless you ask.) So I contend you had a coincidence.
And you are not crazy for questioning JW beliefs. But it might be crazy to take their word as truth based on a chance meeting at lunchtime. (They're always at lunch after their Saturday morning in service, so I don't think it was actually that unusual that you ran into her there then.)

When we are used to having all these beliefs and we lose some, we naturally wanna replace them, right away. Why not try putting off the getting of new beliefs, for a while? Many people survive quite well w no beliefs at all, believe it or not.

Hon, give yourself some alone time. Too much information coming from different directions can be confusing. You might want to consider reading the book "Crisis of Conscience" by Raymond Franz.

You were given something to believe in...That is the Bible. It is good to spend some time learning "how' to read the Bible.....JW's take so much literally that wasn't meant to be literal. I learned A-LOT by going to www.macgregorministries.org . I was seriously "addicted" to this site for a while...hearing others experiences after being a Jehovah's Witness and hearing sermons that are tailored to help people to really learn the Bible. You are not crazy, just human!!

No way I want to step in and mediate between you and God and try to tell you when and how He is answering your prayers! LOL
I will say though, I have felt the same pull you are going through now and I empathize. But I would advise you take a few deep breaths and analyze things rationally. Emotions and feelings are important, certainly, but can often be unreliably colored by that which has nothing to do with sorting through true/false/unproven matters and making important decisions. Even in relationships, or matters of the heart, we really need to use our brains or we can find ourselves making serious mistakes and then repeating them over and over again, hoping that things will turn out differently even though we are refusing to see or do things differently. Not good strategy, imo.
I do wish you well in this struggle, whatever choices you make. You don't have to figure it out all at once. If there is one thing the WTBTS wants to deny people it is the necessity of individual growth, change, exploration and maturation, so I hope you won't let them deprive you of that.
