Welcome to the first day to the rest of your life!
Thanks for all the congrats.
Feelin good....
So my friend did you "step down" or step a side....or maybe you just stepped up.
I have to say it is a great weight off my shoulders, no book study, meetings for ministry, talks, public talks etc etc.
I remember when I handed in my resignation, my wife and I walked out and as you say, there was a huge weight off my shoulders, knowing that I didn't have to commit to anything. Of course when I resigned it was because of all the garbage I had to deal with in the congregation. So in my resignation letter, I told them I wanted the bookstudy out of my house, and that I would do NOTHING except my God divine commission to preach. The following Sunday, I was sitting at the hall, a servant tapped me on the should and extended the mic for me and I looked at him and said "I don't do mics anymore" and sat back down. One of the elders saw this and began laughing.

Well done. You may well have saved yourself from some illness. You got out before it took its toll on your health, and thats got to be a good idea.
My friend had a nervous breakdown from the stress of being an elder.
1 pint of Lorimers 80 Shillings for you
Congrats man.. I did the same thing.. right about a year or so ago.. (have to check the old threads on that one) - best of luck to you - watch out for the old "We will alleviate all of your responsibilities if you JUST DON'T STEP DOWN!" speech.. It's coming - if not from you - then from the CO when he makes his visit...
Peace man...

Good show.
Enjoy your reclaimed time.
