    My philosophy:

If it harms NONE, do what you will. I like the way that is stated because it includes self. So many times we try so hard to treat others the way we want to be treated that we forget that we need to treat ourselves that way too.

I love learning about other ways of thinking, other cultures, other philosophies. Sometimes I even incorporate pieces into my worldview. It sure doesn't threaten who I am in any way.

    Blessings,

    Sherry

Flipper, right on. Your initial post reminded me of how I felt upon leaving. I began to appreciate the shades of grey in life. I began to be comfortable with uncertainty. You might enjoy reading "Buddhism Without Beliefs" or "Living With the Devil" by Stephen Batchelor. Don't let the fact that he is an agnostic Buddhist discourage you from reading. There is no esoteric new age mystic stuff here. It's a practical guide to living with 'shades of grey'. Coming to terms with the fact that everything is contingent.

GRETCHEN 956- Sherry, very true what you said. It really opens up your mind and expands your horizons learning about others cultures , philosophies ! I do that too, what you said about incorporating bits and pieces of different philosophies into my views. I think it makes a more well rounded view of life and the world and a more well rounded person !

MAVIE- Yeah, I feel comfortable with some things that are uncertain in my life. Other things I want to be stable though. But a little uncertainty, keeps us thinking, alert and on our toes ! I'll have to check those books out you mentioned
