Thanks. I'm a bit nervous about the Elders finding out. Men are so harsh.

I recently bought a house and my sister is moving in with me. I'm not sure how the sister or brother that I study with will feel. I really don't care right now.

See? you have much more common sense than you give yourself credit for!

Love and accept your sister, you will not regret it. I promise.

You will regret becoming a witness, if you do. You will regret it when they make you decide between religion and her.

I would just stop them in their tracks, and get your education, which is awesome by the way!

You will be light years ahead of all of them and you will be happy.

Being a witness only brings sorrow and misery. I was one since birth. I used to believe.

Do your research on their history, go to www.jwfacts.com

You're a smart girl, you'll soon see this religion for what it really is...

    Hello again Harleau.

Do you have any doubts when it comes to becoming a Witness?

A few doubts. Being a Witness is a serious commitment and lifetime dedication. I want to know the truth and I figured what better than a religion that calls itself the truth? And eveeryone seems so nice and everything. I just wanted my daughter to have an environment of love and understanding when it comes to God and really know what that is all about.

I cannot in good conscience particiapte in a religion that practices shunning. That doesn't look loving to me. I wouldn't want to have to choose between having a relationship with God and having a relationship with my sister. But that's just me.

But there are other really redeeming qualities about the religion. I mean, my mom would explain it like this, if someone does something wrong, you don't want them to taint everyone in the congregation so you shut them out until they are ready to change,. But you also try to help them. My mom sad that Jehovah has shut down Kingdom Halls because of a lot of wordly tings happening and it all started with one or a few people not listening to Jehovah.

I understand your viewpoint. I was raised as one, and for the most part it was OK. Except for when our family started falling apart, then no one was there. Yes everyone does seem loving. But my 12 yr old just found out they are only loving when you are doing everything they think you should. She was shunned Monday by a local sister, while working in the office at school. She's not baptized and I am not even disfellowshipped. We have simply stopped going to meeting.

As a mother I can tell you I feel MUCH better now that my children are away from it all. I have never told them this, but when we talked about leaving their biggest fear was dying. I asked what they were talking about. They said if we aren't at meetings we'll die at Armageddon. These are kids talking. I had them look up who the Bible says would die. Are they wicked? No. They are now using their brains to make decisions, not being told to blindly follow.

Are you aware of the child abuse cases and Silent Lambs? Or what about if your child needed blood or would die. Please do research away from the publications.

I will and I've already been to Silent Lambs. It was horrible. I could barely stand to loo at it. But my mom ssays there are bad people in every religion.
