I enjoy angel figurines now too. As far as the Witnesses are concerned, the control is everywhere, even from opinions in the congregations. When they can't prove it scripturally, they will turn to their own type of reasoning. In this case, since churches of different faiths find enjoyment in angels, then obviously, good dubs can't. It would be siding with Christendom. With the dubs, angels are portrayed as doing good things but most of the time, they should be feared (they have a really bad temper and slaughter people)

I have always thought how lovely some angel figurines look and would of liked to of bought some in the past. I was always put off by wondering if would be frowned on by the elders or not. Like you I never wanted to worship them for goodness sake!! I am determined to let myself enjoy beautiful things from now on without fear when I am not doing anything wrong in the first place.

I used to have a collection of angel figurines made from stained glass and crystal prisms. I liked what they did to the light coming in the room.
An Elder™ remarked that it was bordering on idolatry, but I told him I had never performed an act of worship toward any of these figurines. I also said that it served as a reminder to me that even when I wasn't at the KH or out in service, my actions could be observed by the angels. Then I asked him if he ever questioned his wife's collection of frog figurines and whether she was committing idolatry, because, you know the Egyptians worshiped frogs. He backed off and never mentioned it again.
Now that I no longer believe in any of that, I just enjoy the effect they have on the light that comes into my room.
