As the JW's in my neighborhood walk their dogs past my house I just love to give them a big grin and wave just as I did before I was DF'd. Oh, the confused and iritated looks on their faces!

Tell him you sent him a letter about your Judicial Committee meeting for 3 a.m. in your house and he did not make it so you had no other choice but to DF him.

    Any similar experiences?

PS - I am taking this action after a 'course of sin', on his part.

When I left the Tower in 83, I just stopped going no dfg or dag. But I had nothing to do with any witnesses. I wouldnt look at them or talk to them if I saw them out and about. They would go out of their way to say Hi and I'd say Hi and keep on walking.

If you start talking to them, they will try to reel you in or at least run their bull shxt by you and see if you salute.

    Right on, Jambon1!

There is nothing wrong with giving the cold shoulder to people who have behaved badly. The wrong thing about JW shunning is that it is INSTITUTIONALIZED shunning - people do it because someone else tells them to, and they are never told the reason WHY the shunning is necessary.

This elder is a self-righteous prig and a boor: he deserves a little time roasting on the spit of disdain.

so here's what you do when you see someone like this - if he speaks, you look at his shoes, raise your eyebrows, smile slightly and walk away. Son't say anything. He'll spend the rest of the day trying to figure out what's wrong with his shoes. Make sure you look at the shoes sort of pityingly, they way you would look at someone with spinach in his teeth.

I think it's a good move. Afterall, 'bad associations spoil useful habits' and You are a useful habit! my mother used to say.

    Many quotables in this thread:

he deserves a little time roasting on the spit of disdain

I shun my extended family that are witnesses.

I know some people say that we should take the higher ground and not do to them what they do to us, but I don't feel that way.

Last time I saw my Aunt I did not even acknowledge that she was in the room as I spoke to everyone else. If felt good.

when he eventually asks me what I am up to (cause he will), I am going to let him know exactly what I though of his little on-street speech that he gave the other week.

To my way of thinking, doing this would be casting pearls before swine.

An even better remedy would be to continue pretending you don't know him. When he approaches you, just look puzzled and say "Do I know you?" or "Sorry, I think you've mistaken me for someone else" and then carry on as though you need to recoup the 5 seconds you just wasted on him.
