After I went back and read his first post I totally agree the guy should be banned and his actions show he was planning on it.

Here is the evidence that IP hashes can be shared between unrelated people.

Ianone (who has had at least 15 sock puppets over the past few years) for a while posted as Gumbley and one of the IP hashes for Gumbley was shared with several other people:

    Gumbley (first: 1 July 2006; last: 13 July 2006)

IP: p0enHs3zE/8mAA9+ (shared also with the Rig Boy and Luke Skywalker sock puppets)
IP: 6onbJwiPH2zKFhu4 (shared also with the Ricky Ray and ianone_rigboy_blue_truth_about_the_truth_gumbley sock puppets)
    IP: WuzQL+dFm81ft+GO [see this thread]

But Ianone wasn't the only poster who posted from WuzQL+dFm81ft+GO. Here are some others:

    Mysterious {Country: Canada} IP: WuzQL+dFm81ft+GO (27 August 2004, cf. [1]; 31 May 2005, cf. [2])

    Poztate {Country: Canada} IP: WuzQL+dFm81ft+GO (4 August 2004, cf. [3]; 25 May 2006, cf. [4]; 6 January 2007, cf. [5])

    shamus IP: WuzQL+dFm81ft+GO (10 June 2003, cf. [6])

    derrickb007 IP: WuzQL+dFm81ft+GO (10 November 2002, cf. [7])

    I-CH-TH-U-S {Country: Canada} IP: WuzQL+dFm81ft+GO (28 November 2005, cf. [8])

    TopDog {Country: Canada} IP: WuzQL+dFm81ft+GO (5 November 2006, cf. [9])

    misguided {Country: Canada} IP: WuzQL+dFm81ft+GO (13 November 2006, cf. [10])

But it doesn't look like any two people share the same IP hash at the same time. If that is the case, then it would be unique to one computer at a given moment. Anyone know more about this? If two accounts posting on the same day share the same hash, does that 100% mean that only one unique computer is involved?

The problem is octam's razor. Yes it is possible to share ip adress but is a long shot. Then you add it being on the same day and their writing styles being simular and it's over.

The simpler solution is the most likely correct one he is the same poster.

My point is, there is a right and wrong way to present yourself here. BlakeSeeley came on far too strongly for my liking. He was quite agressive with his thread and the demanding of personal details?

Threatning the community didn't help his case either.

A poem abandoned wrote comes to mind

    Betrayal

    Pounded in the kidney,
In the middle of a hug.
    Couldn't tell what hit me,
Barely had the strength to shrug.
It's not the blow that hurt me.
But that a friend had made the slug.

Thanks, nelly, that's very interesting....the flickr page for "Chase Hunter" is, in fact, a page for "Carl Hernz". And if you look at his blog, he says he's going home to Corpus Christi, TX, for Thanksgiving. Didn't he say in that other thread that he may catch up with "Chase Hunter" in Texas next week?
