Yes kinda. I bought one for kid, last year, at the Apple Sale. Can't remember how much I paid on sale I thought she may want to take her ipod to OU football games, and listen to the play by play. She has't used it yet. So don't know how well it works. But it looks like it got good ratings.

Cool! A debate!
1. Batteries?? Just plug it in. No need to buy. The time wasted in just changing batteries alone, could add up to more that 27 minutes per year!!
My MP3 player has a switch on the bottom that allows me to recharge it if I have rechargeable batteries inside.
2. You will not lose your music if it dies. It lives on through a new ipod.
What if the hard drive dies?
3. Why would you want to play it on any computer? Computer sound quality sucks. I just put the little buds in my ear, and enjoy beautiful stereo sound.
Many reasons: To share my music with others, so I can hear the phone if it rings / get paged at work. Also, my home PC is connected to my stereo which sounds better than any ear buds.
4. I have a small, portable adapter, just like a car phone charger, that works to play my ipod in the car.

In other words, I don't need Itunes. I can use Windows Media Player, Winamp (Windows), DOSAmp (DOS), XMMS (Linux), and pretty much any DVD player to play my music. I'm not limited to a specific piece of hardware or software to play the music.
6. I can put my own CD's onto my itune account, and ipod.
Ditto, but I don't need an itunes account. I encode/extract them with CDex, then use Nero, CDRWin, Roxio, Sound Juicer, or any other CD burning software out there.
7. Your mother can put all of your songs onto her ipod also.
My mom doesn't have an Ipod. She barely has a brain.
8. I can put 20,000 songs onto my ipod, and have the name of the artist displayed.
Have you found 20,000 songs? Would you like to sort through 20,000 songs? I have a hell of a time with my MP3 DVDs which hold 700 songs each. Oh yeah, my MP3 player also displays the song name, artist, and time.
9. I can watch up to 200 hours of video on my ipod.
I have a TV for that. I can't watch video while I drive or while I'm at work.
10. ipods, unlike your mp3player, show that you are cool.
I could care less about being cool.
The only thing the Ipod has going for it is its size. But then again, there are discless MP3 players out there that are smaller than Ipods and cost less.
